The absence of posts for last weekend was due to me being hooked on a particular PSP game, Warriors Orochi!! And yes, while I was busy enjoying myself, I forcedasked bluesnow to write a Fall Anime Preview. LOL

Warriors Orochi

Quote from Wiki:

Warriors Orochi, known in Japan as Musō Orochi (無双OROCHI, Musō Orochi?), is a PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 hack and slash video game developed by Koei and Omega Force. It is a crossover of two of Koei’s popular video game series, Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors.

This game has releases on PS2, XBOX360 and finally the PSP. The Japanese version was released in Japan on February 20th 2008, and the English version, on April 2nd 2008.

I never got myself to play Dynasty Warriors. I got the game with me on hand, but Orochi is making me too high to start another game XD. I have been playing this game for 7 days now, and I am still loving this game! It is a typical hack-slash game, which somehow has some similarity to the arcade type of game. I personally prefer this type of game for I do not have to use my brains to to solve any riddles, etc(RPG?) And yes, I was so hooked onto this game that my hand muscles ached like mad afterwards. Of course, the PSP isn’t meant for long game play =X.

While some arcade games I used to play are featured in 2D dimension(Guilty Gear anyone?), Warriors Orochi is a 3D Dimensional game. Gameplay is not bad as different characters have different weapons and skills.

Overall, I rate this game 9/10. Must play!!

I’ve played Musou Orochi on my friend’s PS2 before. Although I’m not too into Musou series, I’ve found it to be a bit harder than the previous Dynasty Warriors titles – you get hurt much more even by the grunts, and weapons are mostly by customisation instead of gaining fixed (non-customised) ones from battle. Not necessarily a bad thing, just different. Wish there are more sengoku characters though.

On the other hand, have you tried out your Max Factory Shana yet? I’ve got problems with mine, mostly with the fact that I can’t get the sword through the right hand. Kinda need help on getting it remedied… T_T
