This was the last episode of Macross Frontier… and just… wow o.o This is probably the perfect ending I could have expected from the series… somewhat predictable but still really good. It was so fast paced even with the lowest resolution file my computer was lagging like crazy… I mean… for the first time in the entire show it actually lived up to its “mecha” genre category. Ranka and Sheryl sing together to save the universe!

I have issues with blogging the last episodes of series… primarily because there’s so much that happens that I missed or didn’t understand half of itxD And Macross pretty much feels that way. It was so epic words can’t really describe it, so I just have a ton of pictures instead.

The episode starts off looking like Macross is about to be wiped out because of the giant singing ranka.

Luckily sms with Azuma shows up to save the day just in time. They tell macross to arrest their ugly looking president for assassinating the real president and conspiring with evil 4-eyes. Alto around this time messages in that he’s still alive… (based off the pics in the last episode that’s hard to believe). He says that the giant Ranka is not the real Ranka; that the real one is captured and wanting to be saved. So they blast Giant Ranka out of the sky… and it looks like they might have the upper hand.

Ewwww o.o

Ugly 4-eyes joins with the Vajra system and kind of becomes their mother brain. In that eye shaped part of the planet a HUGE HUGE HUGE mecha-ship thing that kind of looks like an angel was hiding, and she is the one controlling it. With her gained control over the vajira she has them full out attack not only our Macross, buy Macrosses all over the universe.

o.o I was under the assumption earth was gone… maybe I should watch the old macross series.

^This was the only picture of could find of the Vajra mother ship. Its hard to tell how enormous this picture is from this, but most other images have so many lazer beams going “pew pew pew” across the screen you can’t tell either. Lets just say… if this ship was the human body… then Altoh’s ship is maybe smaller than a fingernail.

Inside of the ship Ranka starts to regain power. She starts singing and some of the Vajra listen to her. Sheryl had just given up… and in some weird dream world their colorful spirits meet and Ranka tries to slap some sense into her.

Alto shows up too and gives “friendship speech.”

It sounds to me like he wants a Harem endingXD

Ranka shares her love beams with Sheryl… and they are super powered with friendship…

Her and Sheryl lead brave macross soldiers into battle~

With the Vajra on their side they even go as far as to protect the colony civilian ships from those beams. Eventually the power of love (I’m not kidding)~ is on Alto’s side and he blows up the mother ships and ugly 4-eyes together. Then there’s a random scene of Naked (yes… not just sailor-moon-ish figures… they snuck in some breasts for just one shot) Sheryl and Ranka back to back happy that they won o.o I’m not posting though.

In the end the Vajra just kind of leave their home planet singing the Aimo song, and Macross land on their newly claimed planet. Alto is as happy as a little school girl because he gets to fly as far as he wants.

In Ranka and Sheryl’s ending they realize what a jerk Alto really is and how they were really in love with each other all along o.o

Or maybe not… They decide on the harem ending. Ranka says she will fight with Sheryl in songs and love till the end of time.

Sheryl accepts challenge… I wonder if she was cured from disease. I felt like Ranka’s love beams cured her despite the fact I don’t think there would be any medical proof for that.

Brera is still hot no matter how much explodes in his face.

Impressions:

Did any one else feel bad for the VajraO.o They just kind of leave… why does Macross have the right to claim their planet?

Overall I was really happy with this ending though. It defied the laws of common sense, but was still good, a very happy ending. I love how they sing pretty much ever song of the entire series. The Ranka Sheryl song bombardment was probably my favorite part of this episode.

This is a random thing to conclude at the end of a series… but the only thing that comes to mind is I just realized that Alto’s last name is Saotome o.o Maybe he’s a distant relative of ramna… that would explain why he looks like a girl despite being a guy…

Pretty much most of the issues were put to rest though… if they hypothetically made a movie continuation I have no idea what it would be about…

… I was going to make another post about this but I guess I’ll just say it here. (because I want to hurry up and watch Lucky Star Ova sitting on my computerXD) At the end of the episode they actually did announce a Macross Frontier movie. No dates or previews yet… there was just a 5 second screen at the very very end.

Another step closer to new gundam 00… that was all I could think of at the end of this episodeXD
