Well, despite not intially planning to do this episode review till much later in the week, I decided to clear this off my workload since I’m getting LittleBigPlanet tomorrow and THAT will keep me occupied for quite a while. :D
Alright. I’ll begin writing about Episode 2 now.
Let’s see. The story continues off from last week, with the introduction of ‘Cross-Gensei/Deathscythe’(below) who’s real name is Stiyl Magnus or known in Magic Circles as Fortis931 and also, he is a mage.
“Hi. Now who do I look more like? Cross-Gensei or Deathscythe?”
Magnus is here to retrieve Index for the magic council so that her brain, which is filled with 100,000+ volumes of magic books would not fall into the wrong hands. Touma who is most definetly pissed off and still confused about what’s happenin, decides to attack Magnus. However, due to his blinding rage, the punch was easily avoided by Magnus.
“Aww man. I wish they wouldn’t kill me off so early in the series.”
Magnus then decides that Touma no longer deserves to live, flicks his cigarette out the balcony and cause it to turn into a big burning ball of flame. He summons it all into the palm of his hand and sends the flame barrage towards Touma, hoping to burn him alive. Unfortunatley for Magnus, Touma’s right hand negates all weird abilities, including Magic.

But wait… Touma uses Phoenix Down. Touma is revived
Pissed off with the fact that he’s unable to kill off a ‘mere human’ such as Touma, he decides to cast a huge incantation to summon Innocentius(King of Witch Hunter) to do kill off Touma. Touma tries to use his Right Hand to dispel Innocentius but finds it unsucceful. Index soon speaks to him in a robot-like state, saying that Innocentius can only be cast when there are runes in the area and if the runes are around, Innocentius can’t be destroyed. Touma, hearing the part about Innocentius’ partial-indestrutibility, takes off for his dear life.

While running, Touma soon discovers a hallway filled with papers. On those papers are weird scribblings he soon deduces to be runes. Much running later, Touma soon discovers that Innocentius is trapped inside the building because the Runes are only located within the building. As such, he decides to use his brain and turn the tables on Magnus…… by turning on the Water Sprinkler. Magnus jests at Touma’s weak attempt to quell Innocentius’ flame but is soon shocked that Touma used the sprinkler water not to put out Innocentius’ flame, but to dilute the ink of the runes. With Magnus losing this battle, Touma steps up and smacks him right in the face.

Winning by turning on the sprinklers ain’t cool. Don’t ACT cool
and a punch for goodwill
Moments later, firetrucks come and people soon gather around the outside of the apartment. Touma on the other hand, brings Index to Komoe, his teacher. As Komoe lacks as psychic powers, she’s perhaps one of the only people Touma knows that can save Index. This is because Magic can only be used by non-psychics and the town is practically populated with Psychic users.

While wanting to help save Index, Index soon asks Touma to leave as only Komoe can help her at that moment. Also, as his Right Hand negates abilities, it was also negate healing abilities and cause Index to die faster. With that, Touma runs out of the apartment. As he leaves, the screen soon flashes to a new person.
“Oh hi. I should be introduced proper next episode.”
