Hehe. This makes it my 2nd Double Review I guess. Well, if it means anything, until I can get my time/homework and everything settled out, Akane-iro will be blogged on a Double Review basis. or To Aru, the other way around. Depends on which show is more interesting in the long run. Alright time to get on with this. (Btw, if you’re wondering why this review is SOOOOOOO SUPEEER LATE, please find my boss. ::stares at zenical::)

Episode 3

Quick Summary: The day starts with a surprising news. Sugishitsa-sensei is away on medical leave, leaving everyone in shock as that is something that never happens. As such, the class enters self-study mode. While in class, Karen gets fustrated with Jun’s messy hair and Yuuhi blames it on Jun’s waking up late. This arouses suspicion in Karen as Yuuhi should not have known that. Suddenly, a voice over the PA system calls for Jun and his ‘gang’ to head toward the old school building.

Zordon summons the Power Rangers.

Awaiting Jun and all at the old school building, is Shiina and her pals. As the Seito-Kaichou, she’s enlisting the help of ‘Genokiller’ to locate Sugishita-sensei who was last seen at the old school building.

Karen, Tsukasa, Fuyuhiko, Yuuhi and Jun head into the old school building, rumored to be haunted, to search for Sugishita-sensei. Inside the building, Tsukasa suggets a split of 2 teams, so as to find their teacher more quickly. The teams are, Yuuhi and Jun, and Tsukasa, Fuyuhiko and Karen.

The Lovely Couple

This is actually a ruse to get Yuuhi and Jun together so that the rest can observe their ‘behaviour’. However, due to Karen’s fear of being in a ’scary setting’, Yuuhi and Jun soon dissappear from the group’s sight.

Jun and Yuuhi soon enter a room and are soon attacked by a model of the human body. (like in most ‘haunted japanese schools’.) The person behind the ghosts turn out to be Nago Nago, Minato’s friend. When asked if she knew where Sugihito-sensei was, Nago Nago replied yes but caused Jun and Yuuhi to fall through a trapdoor in the flooring.

Nago Nago should so do Hare Hare Yukai there and then.

Trapped down there, Jun and Yuuhi search for a way out but to no avail. There’s no cellphone reception there either, meaning they’re stuck down there. The inside of that traproom soon gets cold and Jun takes out his school vest and hands it to Yuuhi so that she wouldn’t feel cold.

Much time has passed and it’s now evening time, Minato arrives at the scene and finds her brother and Yuuhi with the help of Nago Nago. Coincedentally, Sugishita-sensei was trapped in the same room as Yuuhi and Jun. At the end of that ‘adventure’, all of them head home, with Sugishita-sensei found.

Xing-ke is found.

Impressions: I apologize if that quick summary looks really messed up becuase it is. It’s a pretty ‘long’ episode to summarise out because every detail here is character development and taking that detail out of the summary totally screws up your understanding of the show later on.

To add on, I am liking the way the story is moving. While it is still very Da Capo-ish, a small spark of romance can finally be seen between Jun and Yuuhi. So here’s to hoping for a good ending soon. I think this show’s 12-13 episodes no?

Episode 4

Very Quick Summary: Ayanokouji Karen invites Yuuhi, Tsukasa, Fuyuhiko, Shiina, Shiina’s friend and Sugishita-sensei onto her luxury liner for a party. She invites Jun too, but he declines her offer. As such, she uses another method to drag him alone. Via Minato.

Karen: “Buzz off all you leeches. :( Only the main cast gets invited.”

On the ship, everyone soon realises that the boat’s guests are mainly adults and businessmen. They realise that their outfits aren’t really suited for the event but Karen drags them all to a room where they all found proper suits and dresses to wear.

The Brady Bunch.

During a walkaround of the ship, Yuuhi and Minato find the kitchen staff lying on the floor due to seasickness. With this, Yuuhi volunteers to cook however after a failed attempt, Minato decides to take the mantle of chef with Shiina and her friend as assistants. Nago Nago arrives with a present for Minato, a huge tuna fish.

Seasickness takes its toll.

Wow. Giant fish.

While Minato’s handling the cooking, Karen decides to entertain the guests with her ‘jokes’ that aren’t funny at all while waiting for the food to be served. Many un-funny jokes later, Minato soon enters the dining hall with all the food she’s cooked and before everyone starts eating, she demonstrates her prowess by slicing the giant tuna whole within seconds.

Tuna Guitar.

Karen, not wanting to to do worse than Minato, decides to scare the crowd with a fake ocotopus scare, then defeating the octopus to gain glory. However, the fake octopus scares Yuuhi too much and it causes her to run around like a maniac, accidentally triggering the fireworks onto the boat. This causes the boat to light up in flames. Sugishita-sensei and his students start evacuating people out.

However, it is soon realised that both Minato and Yuuhi are still trapped in the boat. Jun heads towards Minato first and directs her out of the burning ship. He then runs in search of Yuuhi who is in the main dining hall, drenched and tired. Yuuhi jumps onto Jun, scared and needing attention.

She’s so going to want him by the end of the series.

At the end of the event, both Jun and Yuuhi made it out safely.

The next day, Karen apologizes to everyone for everything that has happened and promises to invite them to a Ayanokouji Onsen the next time.

Impressions: This isn’t very quick is it. :(. A few comments I like to make.

1) I hate the fact that they brought Ayanokouji Karen into the mix. She should have just stayed in the PS2-port of the original game because as much as she tries to be funny/sexy/bitchy and all. It fails.

2) More development between Yuuhi and Jun.

3) Very interesting scene when Jun saw Minato in her dress.

Yup. That’s all the comments I’d like to make. I still stick by my decision in watching this show because it is exactly what’s needed to break free from all the action shows, (looks at Gundam 00, To Aru Majutsu…just to name a few)

Random Shots

Wow. 10/10 for Minato.

and the rest of the Miss High School contest.

Epic Fail.
