A new Mahou Sensei Negima! OAD has been announced. 魔法先生ネギま！～にひとつの世界～　or Mahou Sensei Negima! ~ Mō Hitotsu no Sekai~’s 1st volume will be released September 17th 2009.

The unofficial Neko to Negima! to Seiyū-san site reports that Kodansha producer Yoichi Ishimoto announced a second series of Negima! Magister Negi Magi original anime DVDs (OADs) in a Negima! event in Tokyo on Wednesday.Starting this summer, the second series will reportedly ship on four DVDs that will be bundled with limited editions of four manga volumes from Ken Akamatsu

Being a fan of the Mahou Sensei Negima! manga, I became thrilled when I heard that there would be a new OAD continuing on from where Ala Alba ended. Having read the manga, I’m thrilled that Part 1 of my favourite Negima arc is being covered. The previous arcs were barely covered in the original Negima anime, Negima!? or even Ala Alba. Ala Alba barely covered 5 chapters, which consisted of the Festival and the Training Arcs which happened after the Chao Lingshen arc.

From the PV, it looks like the OAD will cover the Negima! crew’s flight to Wales, entry into the Old Mahou World and the battle with Fate Averruncus to the point where they get separated from each other. Whether this PV just represents the 1st episode of the OAD or the entire OAD in entirety, that will have to wait till the OAD is released.
