Yuko Goto 後藤 邑子
This week Seiyuu Sunday features Yuko Goto! I chose her this week because of a certain fanboy XD. If you didn’t know, Yuko voices Mikuru in Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
Name: 後藤 邑子
Country: Japan, Aichi
Birthday: 1980年8月28日
Height: 160cm
Blood Type: O
Website: http://ameblo.jp/goto-yuko
She’s in the following anime series which I’m sure you heard 1 or 2 of them ;) [ANN]:
- Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 (TV) as Anya Alstreim
- Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (TV) as Mikuru Asahina
- Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (TV 2009 renewal) as Mikuru Asahina
- Night Wizard The Animation (TV) as Bell Zephyr
- S.A (TV) as Hikari Hanazono
- Tears to Tiara (TV) as Riannon
- Zan Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei (TV) as Abiru Kobushi
Most rememorable anime series she did to me is Haruhi and S.A. I like how she sounds different in S.A! =3 As a seiyuu-obsessed person now, I actually watched Tears to Tiara and found Riannon voice very familiar. After thinking for awhile, I found out that she’s voiced by Yuko Goto XD. Oh and her hobbies include: Motorcycle, reading, traveling. Wow she sounds real cool, never heard of any female seiyuu interested in motorcycles =3.
Sadly, it’s really hard to find pictures of her online.. >_> She needs more love! Mikuru fanboys should fanboy over Yuko Goto as well! ^^” Are you a fan of her or one of the anime characters she voiced? =)
I started cracking up the moment read the name. LOL
Oh man, there is a tear in my eye. xDxDxDxDxDxDxDxDxD
OH, she was in Special A. I didn’t know that. The series is still somewhere in my HD. >_>
Anyway, thanks :3
That mikuru fanboy inside me has just ignited again. xD

I first heard her as Nanami in Lamune, where she was as moe as it is possible to be. Not that I knew that word in 2005, lol. She had a long career in ero-games before that. I’m not sure what she says there now, but she used to say on her website that her interests were drinking and motorcycles. She can draw well, and has some of her work on her site (which you can find via Anime News Network). She was apparently at university in Nagoya, studying to be an English interpreter, when show-business called and she began to work backstage in TV.

Her best role imo was the yandere Kaede from Shuffle!

OH! I’m also a great fan of Yoko Goto, due that Special A’s my number one favorite anime. Like you, I also find her cool, because there aren’t a lot of girls who would go for motorccling. I got so excited the moment I read your article. Hope you keep on liking Yuko Goto; I’m right behind you! Anway, I’ve heard that she had voiced in all those animes you’ve written above, even before I read your article. I like her voice at Special A as well.
