Beautiful and original capcom game “Okami” is finally getting a sequel on the Nintendo DS.  The new title is Okamiden: Chisaki Taiyou. Not too much information has been released, but the hero of his version goes by the name “Chibiterasu” and it is planned to be released sometime in 2010.

In the origenal game you play as a wolf/god that collects mystical brush powers that allow you to perform supernatural feats to purify and defeat demons. Using your brush powers on the DS should make the controls very interesting. I just hope the graphics are as beautiful as the were on the wii and the ps2. The screenshots and adorable puppy above are promising.

Fans have been asking for a sequel for years; but had nearly lost hope since the original, despite amazing reviews, just didn’t sell very well. With this new announcement I’ve heard both fan rejoice and rage. As a DS owner, personally I am delighted.
