Ah yes, remember Guuzen’s post about the Street Fighter IV Teaser Site? Well, more details have been revealed.

Firstly, 2 new characters have been unveiled on the official website. They are,

- Juri

- T.Hawk

Ah yes, T.Hawk, 1 out of 2 remaining Super Street Fighter II Turbo characters who did not make the first Street Fighter IV cut, has finally arrived. The other remaining Super Street Fighter II Turbo character? Dee Jay? What ever happened to him? Fear not fans of Dee Jay, cause he will be in the game as well.

Oh yes, this article from Famitsu pretty much shows that Dee Jay will be in the game. Yes. I was wondering where Dee Jay always was. He was one of my favourite characters to use in Super Street Fighter II and his absence in SFIV, felt wrong, considering characters like Gen made the cut. Pure nonsense.

The article on Kotaku mentioned,

Which begs the question: why an all-new title, and not just a range of DLC? Ono says the changes are so extensive that they couldn’t just be tacked on, so a disc release was necessary. Those crying “RIP OFF” should know that the game “won’t be sold at full price”, and that those owning both the original and Super will are in store for an as-yet-unspecified treat.

Personally, I’d still think I would have preferred the new characters as DLC, but with the tweaks and online changes mentioned in the article, I can pretty much get a good idea why the game is released on a new disc rather than as DLC. I personally would not want to have a 16gb DLC pack, seeing how as my PS3 is once again, running out of Hark Disk space. Yeah. Besides, the article did mention that the game will be sold at a cheaper price compared to a retail SFIV, so we’ll see how it goes.

And with the unspecified treat for owners of both discs, I’m thinking of keeping my PS3 game disc. But, I do get the bad feeling that this special treat will probably only apply to the people in the States or Japan or somewhere in Europe. People in Singapore or any other part of Asia are always left out of such bonus items.

Ok. With the real news out of the way, time to delve deeper into the topic of the upcoming Super Street Fighter IV. Yoshinori Ono had mentioned that there would be 8 new characters coming to Super Street Fighter IV. There have been many rumors as to who those characters are on different message boards but I found this particular rumor page to be one of the better reads.

# The previously leaked characters are all said to be in the game. Dee Jay, T. Hawk, Dudley, Ibuki, Makoto, Adon, Cody and Guy. The new characters are rumored to be:

* Hakan – An Arabic grappler obsessed with oil.
* Juri – Evil Asian girl fighter working for Seth.

So far, Dee Jay, T.Hawk and Juri are confirmed. I so want Ibuki, Makoto and Guy to be in the game though. :D So hopefully this rumor is true. On the very same page, other big rumored changes were also listed, such as:

• 2nd Ultra Special, using different commands
• Air Ultra Special
• Bonus Stage (Oh!!! Please bring back the car smashing bonus stage from Street Fighter II)

So yeah. These are the rumors that have been floating around a lot. I’ll be constantly checking the SFIV page for more updates when I can.

Super Street Fighter IV will be released in Spring 2010 for the PS3 and X360.
