Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars was one of the highest rated Nintendo DS games out there, and it is coming for the PSP.

Those who are not familiar with Chinatown Wars, the gameplay is like your usual GTA game out there, whereby you are put into the shoes of a certain protagonist who runs around doing missions and earning money in a virtual city that Rockstar has created.

However, it has some differences from the recent GTA titles. The most noticeable one is that it has returned to the bird’s eye view perspective. However you are not entirely looking at the game top-down, because the camera is slightly angled in such a way that it still looks like a full 3D game. Another difference is that it is more arcade-style and interactive than the other titles. The interactivity is not a surprise though since it is specially made to play on the NDS.

For those of you who have played the NDS version, you can expect the same interactivity in the game as you have experienced. For example, as you can see from the trailer, you have to hit the L and R buttons simultaneously to break the windscreen of the car when its underwater. Also, hot-wiring cars will require you to move and tie wires together. These interactions are probably not as natural as opposed to the NDS’s stylus, but I find that Rockstar still did a pretty decent job in translating it to the PSP controls.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be released on October 20, 2009. That is just a couple of days away! =D.
