Why Valkyria Chornicles 2 Is On PSP

I’m a big fan of Valkyria Chronicles. Though I haven’t played the game yet, well maybe soon, I did catch the anime, and I love it a lot! So VC2 will be coming to us soon, and it’s on the PSP, and not like the first game, which was released for the platform, PS3.

Why Valkyria Chornicles 2 Is On PSP

So we ask ourselves, why on earth did Sega decide to bring the game to the PSP and not the PS3?

According to producer Shuntaro Tanaka, it would take the team three years to make another PS3 game, and that’s considering the fact that SEGA already has assets that can be used in the game as well as improved PS3 game development “know how”.

Putting the game on the PSP was a much faster solution. Tanaka hopes to see the franchise expand on the PSP and the PS3.

Honestly, Sega should consider the fact that some gamers prefer playing games on HDTV rather than staring onto the small screen! In addition, it doesn’t mean that every PS3 owner has a PSP too! ><. The demo of VC2 is available at the Japanese PSN Store, so head on over there if you’re interested to try out the game!

    Can’t, don’t have one. :(
In addition to this, the development cost was cheaper as well and expanding it on the PSP hopes to get more girl players.

Interesting, I actually played the original VC first and beat that completely. Then started watching the anime and got bored halfway through. =/

I know some PSP games can be played on the PS3 but I highly doubt VC 2 is one of them. :S

@ Optic: girl gamers are more into girl-type of games.. (excluding me).. In addition it’s said that the PSP format is much easier compared to creating the PS3 one. (duh). Then again, I’m still hoping for a PS3 release… MAYBE.

    @ abao: Not the same!

@ Reltair: Thank god I didn’t start the game. Now that the anime is over, I feel extremely lazy to start on the game! LOL

@ Optic: Er those are more of PSN store games.
