Thats the exact opposite of my reaction xD I started watching the first one completely confused and about to drop it... then they did character introductions and I finally understood what was going on. Gintama is like Ranma 1/2... they are always adding more and more characters to the series that pop up all over the place... so I think its kind of hard to ignore the character intros xD Since MOST of the arcs are like mini 1-2 episode arcs its hard to really recommend one... They do get to longer important arcs later that are like 5-6 eps for each... But you really need to see all they characters first xD ^ really? Thats the exact opposite of my reaction xD

I started to try to marathon gintama but I fell asleep three times trying to watch the first 10 episodes. The first episode was good but then the following episodes were just backstories as to why the characters acted the way they did in the first episode which I found not very interesting. what’s a good episode or arc to watch out for?
