I met up with M on Saturday to pre-order our copies of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Limited Edition for the PC!

Battlefield Bad Company 2 - Pre-order Bonus

I do not usually. Pre-order things, but this time it is different. The deal was that if you pre-order the limited edition of the game, you will be paying at no extra cost from the standard edition ($56.90 SGD). Pretty good deal if you ask me =).

I have always wanted to play Bad Company after watching a couple of trailers. I guess I was attracted to the amusing characteristics of the people in the game. However, the first game was console exclusive so I did not have a chance to try it out. So now since Bad Company 2 is being released for the PC as well, I did not hesitate to put it in my “must-have” list.

I really hope DICE has made some sort of recap for the events that had happened in the campaign of the first game so that PC gamers will at least have some sort of idea what is going on. For the multiplayer aspect, I do not think there is anything to worry about. I trust DICE and their Battlefield series to provide me with a great multiplayer experience.

Limited Edition Features

  • Beta access (Jan 29 – Feb 26)
  • Special limited edition cover artwork
  • Gold-foil print T-shirt

  • 4 Vehicle Warfare Unlocks
    • Improved Vehicle Armor – An Up-Armor package mounted on all vehicle types decreases the effect of both explosive and penetrating warheads, significantly improving vehicle survivability.
    • Vehicle Alternate Fire – Additional weapon packages mounted for the driver of all armored vehicles, greatly expands the range of targets the vehicle can successfully engage and destroy.
    • Vehicle Motion Sensor – Upgraded Sensor to locate enemy units in direct proximity to the vehicle.
    • Tracer Dart Pistol – Launched by compressed air, this magnetic dart attaches to any vehicle surface, allows friendly shoulder launched rockets to lock on to and track moving targets even beyond line of sight.
  • 2 Classic Battlefield 1943 Weapons
    • M1A1 Submachine Gun – Popular with Paratrooper and Commando units in WW2 for its rate of fire and stopping power the M1A1 is still seen in the hands of paramilitaries today. Reliable but heavy this classic weapon is still a powerful force in the hands of a Battlefield Veteran.
    • M1911 Pistol – Adopted in 1911 by the US Army the M1911 saw heavy service in WW1, WW2, Korea and Vietnam. Highly customized M1911 are still favored by Special Operations forces for its reliability and the power of its large .45 caliber round.

You can visit the EA Store for more information. You can place your order over at Play-Asia, however you may not be able to get the Beta access if you do so..

I have played the beta and the multiplayer is decent so far. However, it gets frustrating at times because the weapons take quite a while to get used to and they are not too accurate (people say it adds to the realism =S).

EA issued me a new code. So yeah!!

In other news, I just learned that my com sucks for gaming so yes, I’m probably not going to play BF:BC2 well at all.

    @guuzen

What settings did u use? Or just left it at medium?

Congrats on getting your new code! =D I left it at medium setting, though I had to tweak some settings in the settings.ini file to get it running at like 30fps. hopefully the full game will run smoother =(.

Battlefield series has awesome online gameplay. I haven’t played the Bad Company ones myself, but I’m assuming it’s basically the same style. I still occasionally play 1943 on the PS3 and just own up a few matches.

The only noticeable difference is probably the singleplayer difference? The singleplayer for the Battlefield series has always been skirmish mode. However, the Bad Company ones have more of a story to it.

I have not played the first Bad Company, but this is what I can conclude from reading reviews =).
