This Might Be The New Nintendo 3DS Touchscreen

I’m sure most of you heard that Nintendo ain’t backing down with the console war. Recently I heard from comrades that the DS will get it’s “3DS” experience. Wow. 3D touchscreen! We seen lots of images of what the 3DS might look like, but nothing seemed promising.

Last friday, Sharp unveiled its new 3D touchscreen LCD technology in Tokyo today, touting the new tech’s high brightness and low crosstalk—”Double images created by overlapping of left and right images”—calling it “ideal for sophisticated mobile devices such as smartphones.”

Tons of rumors floating around, but Nintendo has not officially revealed the specifications or manufacturer of the Nintendo 3DS, and it plans to showcase at this year’s E3 expo. Sharp was previously pegged as one of the manufacturers of the device screens – though there is no official word from Nintendo yet.

What do you think of 3D gaming? I always thought it’s awesome. But the thought of having portable 3D gaming – can’t see myself having one of those consoles. It’s tough playing with my iPhone – all the motion controls of shaking, flipping to one side is embarrassing enough in the public =/.

Hmm… For some reason 3D gaming is not really a selling point for me. The immediate problem I can think of is me getting a bad headache. Watching something in 3D for even 20 minutes can get my head spinning. Some might argue that the 3DS is different since no 3D glasses is required, but I still think I will get sick from it…

Despite that, I am honestly very curious about how Nintendo is going to pull this one off. I can’t wait to see a video of the 3DS working with a game. I am more interested in the hardware than owning one and playing it =S.
