In Japan, Capcom is well-known for the Monster Hunter series. I even played the Monster Hunter PSP myself. Namco Bandai created a monster-type game too, called GOD EATER. Now it’s Square Enix turn to join in. Presenting the upcoming Lord of Arcana, a PSP game said to be out later this year, as seen in this week’s Famitsu article. Woot!

You will be able to fully customize your in-game characters – avatars. After which your journey begins! You can team up with 3 other players via ad-hoc wireless and start slaying large beasts!

How the combat system works is unclear, but there does appear to be a lock-on, activated with L. At a glance, the combat scenes shown in Famitsu resemble Monster Hunter.

I’m definitely looking forward to Square Enix’s take on Monster Hunter, will it be better?
