While Gundam fans can enjoy the 1/1 scale Gundam at Shizuoka City, Evangelion fans has to settle for a life-size Evangelion bust. Better than nothing eh! Opened on 23 July 2010, just yesterday, the Neon Genesis Evangelion bust is currnetly on display at Fuji-Q Highland theme park.

The statue recreates the scene in which Evangelion character Shinji Ikari meets Eva-01 in the 7th Cage hangar for the first time.

Besides the 16-meter-wide (52-foot-wide) bust, the pavilion also has a life-size Entry Plug cockpit of an Evangelion unit, life-size figures of the character Kaworu Nagisa and the Seele monoliths, a miniature video theater, a museum, two studio galleries for taking photographs, and a shop

You can view the archived videos from the event via Ustream.
