Here Comes The Otacute Character Contest, Stand To Win Prizes!

The good people of Otacute are holding “The Otacute Character Contest”. They are celebrating their 1st year anniversary and would like to take this opportunity to look for a mascot(s). The best part? You get to create the character. Well are you up for it? The premium winner would be awarded $500 cash. There will be prizes for the Gold, Silver and Bronze winner.

General Rules

Characters may be human, animal, plant, robot, elf, dwarf, divinity or other, but must abide by the contest rules of Otacute. Submissions may not contain any nudity, sexually explicit material or other obscenities, and must be original. Only original and unpublished submissions will be considered, and any fan art or other copyrighted images or characters will not be accepted. Otacute reserves the right to reject, remove and/or disqualify entries at its discretion.

Eligibility

Must have an account with Otacute.com and one entry per participant (If you do not have an account with Otacute, you can create it for free). We accept submissions only through registered E-mail addresses with Otacute.com

Deadline

Submission ends 23:59 pm, September 30, 2010. Japan Standard Time.

Entry guidelines

Each entry must contain 1 main portrait and 1 to 4 sub portraits. If one’s entry is nominated by Otacute, it will be uploaded on Otacute blog for further selection. The main portrait will be used as a cover of his/her submission. The sub portrait(s) can form any kind of styles as long as they are following the contest rules of Otacute. Copyright of nominated submissions temporarily belongs to Otacute during the contest.
Please note that one applicant may submit only his/her original work specifically made for this Otacute contest.

To submit your work, please attach it to your registered e-mail with a name of mascot(s), its theme and your nickname, and send it to [character_contest@otacute.com]

Here are the details you need to take note when sending the mascot character:

  • Image format: jpg
  • Resolution / Size: 2MB or less (each images)
  • Dimension: 1024 x 768 pixels (Main Portrait), 800 x 800 pixels (Sub Portrait

Prizes

  • Premium Winner: $500 Cash via PayPal & its entry will be used as Otacute Mascot(s)
  • Gold Winner: $100 Shopping Credits of Otacute
  • Silver Winner: $50 Shopping Credits of Otacute
  • Bronze Winner: $30 Shopping Credits of Otacute

The contest rules of Otacute

By submitting to this character contest, applicants have acknowledged that they have read and will abide by the contest rules of Otacute.com. In particular, applicants warrant and represent that their work does not infringe or violate any third party rights nor contain nudity or other inappropriate material, and that by submitting, they have granted Otacute the right to utilize the entry of the premium winner for promotional, marketing or any other activity that involve the direct sale of the artwork. Otacute reserves the right to maintain copyright of nominated and selected submissions as long as Otacute intend to hold it, however, copyright of submitted entry shall remain property of participants. Copyright of nominated submissions will be returned to participants once Otacute announces the winners. Acknowledgement and return of the submitted entry is at the sole discretion of Otacute.
