For the more serious of us in the audience, we enjoyed the original Gundam, Seed Destiny & 00 series because we can see linkages between what is being described with what is going on in the real world, eg, while there is no one 'right way' to manage the world's problems, we agree that military aggression and coercive policies are the enemy of the free mind. The underlying ideology of Gundam should be about promoting freedom. However, the ending of this movie suggests that in the end, we cannot fight reality and we should submit to the power of a superior force, and sacrifice our freedom and sense of individuality for the sake of a 'greater good'. Gaining 'mutual understanding' at the cost of losing our identities and being assimilated into the 'system' is a sad ending for humanity. It's worrying that this is the message the elite creators / sponsors behind this movie is trying to brainwash us to believe as the right path forward. For example when setsuna shot that ELS that had taken the form of someone he knew. If yall payed attention the ELS when he was walking to Setsuna, had his Arms wide open as if he was tryna to show he meant no harm. Yet Setsuna blew him up anyways. Which conveys the whole misunderstanding thing. Yes, the story here was like copied from the movie 'Final Fantasy: the spirits within', also, there are unanswered questions here like why did the dialogues gave the GN drive? how did they met aeolia schenberg and how did they communicate through him? what's the shit about this whole understanding thing? So is setsuna suppose to be like the Messiah in this movie and save mankind by turning himself in?
