The first ever PlayView strategy guide will be for Capcom’s Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, available now on Japan’s PSN Store for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable.

So PlayView is quite a recent technology by Sony. I am not a tech person but from what I can tell, it is like having a really big image which you can enlarge while keeping the contents looking clear and sharp. Apart from that, you can also attach stuff like music and videos onto it. You can see for yourself in the video below.

Pretty neat stuff huh? Well there probably won’t be that level of complexity in these strategy guides but you get the idea. The picture above is an example of what you can expect. As you can see an image/video pops up after zooming in or possibly clicking on a certain part.

Although the technology seems great and it opens up a path for creative contents, I’m not sure how many people will actually buy these guides. I mean, what do people usually do if they hit a wall in a game? Search on Google for user made guides or post a thread on your favorite game site. Even if I do want to buy a strategy guide, I would prefer a physical copy for collection purposes after I have used it to clear the game.
