Just how many folks have bought Final Fantasy XIV? During an investors briefing earlier this week, Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada admitted that Final Fantasy XIV has been having a hard time out the gate and said, “We’re quickly working on reforms. We’d like to put our full power into regaining trust.”

There are a total of 630,000 units shipped out for the PC version – 190,000 for Japan, 210,000 for North America and 230,000 for Europe. The PS3 version is still on schedule for a March 2011 release.

Wada said some of the problems were due to expectations for FFXIV being high and the end result showing a gap.

Part of the reason why I haven’t gotten the game is because of the monthly fee I have to pay in order to enjoy the game. What about you?
