Anyone caught The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi yet? The anime movie was screened in November, in Singapore during AFAX. I was too tired and lazy to reach the event early to catch the movie, so I totally missed the screening ^^”. Also part of the fact for my laziness was that the movie was going to be released on Blu-ray and DVD on 18 December 2010.

Two editions available on two available format: Limited and Regular Edition on Blu-ray or DVD! Limited Edition contains includes a bonus video featuring footages of location hunting, BGM recording, press conference, edit works, “Yasashi Bokyaku” music video making-of. Also includes jacket illustration slide tray with clear sleeve, description sheet with postcard and movie brochure. The Blu-ray edition also includes script.

A pity that the release doesn’t include English subtitles. Surely they know the Haruhi franchise is so popular that they would earn a lot if they did release English subtitles with it? XD.

I was lucky enough to catch two screenings of the movie in California – its U.S. premiere in San Fransisco and then again in LA a month later. I think the reason the Japanese DVD doesn’t include English subs is that it would then hurt sales of the later U.S. release. Just my guess though, I’m not sure.
