PlayStation 2 – 150 Million Sold
Sony has announced yesterday that the PlayStation 2 has sold 150 million sets worldwide. Software sales is over 1.5 billion. The landmark was crossed on 31 January, around 10 years and 11 months after the system was first released in March 2000.

Sales of PlayStation 2 software as of December 2010 stood at 1,527,000,000 units. This is spread across 10,828 releases.
While having a PS2 is certainly getting cheaper – with the PS2 games being cheaper than PS3 games, I don’t find myself going back to the PS2 at all. Once I saw how HD a game can be, I couldn’t go back to the PS2 days. xD. Waiting for news of a PS4, if any :3.

lol I’ve only finished playing Final Fantasy XII International on PS2 during the Chinese New Year weekend, so even though that PS3 is a big jump from PS2 I can still live with the difference; perhaps I’m just used to ‘lower graphics’ ^^;
