Zotaku Gaming: What’s Up [12-19 April]
This is another weekly post based on the idea of our weekly Zotaku Anime Check-In. While Zotaku isn’t much of an gaming website, we still post about games now and then. Zenical: This game was introduced to me by my fellow gaming comrades. I watched the gameplay of the game and what gave me the urge to purchase it was the RPG, co-op and endless hack-and-slash with your character! There are three classes to choose from. I chose the Mage class as my other friends are using tanking classes like Warriors and Rogues. Even Guuzen is a Rogue, so I guess I made the right choice ^^. Many of my friends(who are older than me) claimed that this game is a copy of Diablo 2, with the endless hacking and RPG elements. But given that this is a “copy” as so many claimed, it’s still a fun game. Get started playing with your friends and let the adventure begin!
The last boss fight with one of my friends last night was extremely hilarious as all of us were too busy trying to kill the boss and we forgot about our health. We ended up failing the stage LOL! And yes I was supposed to be spamming my heal but I died too XD.
Guuzen: Well, this game was totally out of my radar until Zenical told me about it. I was pretty skeptical about it at first because knowing that this is a game developed by Gameloft, I didn’t have much expectation for it. What I got out of Dungeon Hunter after 12 hours of gameplay, was a pretty okay cooperative experience and a surprising amount of skills, items and different environment levels.
There are three classes to choose from: Mage, Rogue and Warrior. For the first playthrough, I chose Rogue and managed to get it to Level 38 (max Level 75). I can choose to play in Legendary mode and continue building up my character, or start on the other classes and see what they have to offer.
As this game is only available on the US PlayStation Store, the multiplayer seem pretty dead. Even if I managed to find an available game, most of the hosts reserved slots for their friends. Lucky for me, I have Zenical and her friends so my multiplayer experience isn’t too bad.
Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is okay for a downloadable game with pretty entertaining cooperative gameplay. However it is highly recommended that you grab a few friends to play with. If you don’t have any gaming buddies, you may be missing out a lot of the cooperative experience.

Zenical: I bought the new Steel Rain Map Pack with anticipation that the new maps would be awesome to play in. When I joined my first game on the new maps, boy was I wrong. The moment I walked out I got sniped by an MM(sniper) !! And I respawned only to get killed at the door by proximity mines. Wherever I respawn out, I am bound to die at the hands of those cloakers or campers. The map is seriously confusing with lots of walls and doors. No doubt that placing proximity mines at the door would be the best way to kill anyone (cause I did that). One has to wait for the door to open before you can enter a room. Once the door open you’ll be greeted by many campers with rocket launchers -_-.
