Project DIVA Version 2.5 Announced & Dreamy Theater 2nd Info
Sega is developing another Project DIVA game for the PSP named Project DIVA Version 2.5. Despite the “2.5″ at the end, this is a full game and not just some add-on for Project Diva 2nd.
Judging from the few screenshots that Sega has released, this looks… Exactly like the first two Project DIVA games. Whether that is a good thing or not depends on you. I have always complained about the PSP version’s bright colors making it very difficult to see certain note positions which seem like it will persist in PD v2.5. Then again, the PSP has a limited hardware so it’s difficult to pump out shadows to improve visual contrast.
It does not seem like there are any new features in PD v2.5 as I’m seeing the same notes present in PD 2nd. However, they will be making certain adjustments to improve on the gameplay experience. I wonder which parts are getting tweaked. Personally, I hope the game is more lenient on the accuracy because it is really difficult to score full combos.
SPiCa Live @ 39’s Giving Day Concert
Although there are no new features, there will be new songs and new customizable items (costumes, furnitures, etc). On the official website, four songs are being featured: [melody...], [Iroha Uta], [Colorful x Sexy], and [SPiCa -39's Giving Day Edition-]. I am really excited for SPiCa because I totally like that song and Sega is reanimating that part of the 39’s Giving Day concert! You can expect the 3D animation in the background to look similar to the video above.
So other than PD v2.5, Dreamy Theater 2nd is in development as well. This works similarly to the first Dreamy Theater. When it is available on the Japanese PlayStation Store, you can purchase it and then import your Project DIVA 2nd save from your PSP onto your PS3 and then you can enjoy Miku in wonderful HD graphics. It is important to note that if you bought the Project DIVA 2nd DLCs, you will NOT be able to play it on Dreamy Theater 2nd, so no HD [Go My Way]. Sega has not released any pricing details, but the first Dreamy Theater was available for 3,000 yen at launch.
Project DIVA Version 2.5 is slated for a Fall 2011 release on the PSP and Dreamy Theater 2nd will be slated for a Summer 2011 release on the PS3.
