Oh finally a date from Sony. It has been around 1 week since the PSN service was restored over in USA, Australia, Europe, etc. Sadly I wasn’t able to get some online gaming done because of the PSN outage. So much for buying a new game only be unable to play multiplayer! Starting tomorrow, 28 May 2011, gamers in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Malasia, Indonesia and Thailand will see service gradually resumed for both PSN and Qriocity.

The initial phase will include the following:

  • Sign-in and password change for PSN and Qriocity
  • Friend Category functionality — Friend List, Chat, and Trophy
  • PS3 and PSP online play
  • PlayStation Home
  • Torne’s network functionality

Sony is offering “Welcome Back” goodie package to players in Japan and Asia with 1-2 different games in the list.

PS3 owners located in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia will be able to select two free titles from the following five games

  • The Last Guy
  • Loco Roco!! BuuBuu Cocoreccho!
  • Trashbox (Echochrome for Japan)
  • Wipeout HD
  • Hustler King

Japan PSP owners will be able to select two titles from the following five games.

  • Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida or2 (What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2)
  • Minna no Sukkiri
  • Patapon 2
  • LittleBigPlanet Portable
  • LocoRoco Midnight Carnival

Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Inodonesia PSP owners will get to choose from these four titles.

  • Everybody’s Stress Buster
  • LittleBigPlanet™
  • LocoRoco™ -Midnight Carnival
  • Modnation™ Racer PSP®

Sony will give all PSN users 30 free days of PlayStation Plus and 30 free days of Platinum membership in Weekly Toro Station.

This is a sucky welcome back present as compared to PS3 owners in USA! The games are crappy and not even comparable to inFamous or LittleBigPlanet!!! Regardless all Asian gamers know Sony treats us like non-existing. So I am just going to sit back and enjoy my multiplayer-gaming instead! >_>

Apparently the restoration of PSN does not apply to everybody in PlayStation Asia; those of us in Hong Kong and in South Korea don’t actually have a date for it yet, so we are still having the short end of the stick. Feels like being left out to an extent :\
