Ace Combat: Assault Horizon demo is already available on XBLM and PSN and it has already been downloaded 1.2 million times.

I played the demo too and spent a fair amount of time on it. I think as an arcade flight game, its pretty darn good. You know how it gets irritating when you miss an enemy flying past you and both of you make endless loops trying to find each other again? That problem has been tackled quite well in this game with a lock-on system that helps you tail your enemy loosely which he can break free from, but at least give you a chance to damage his plane some.

I have not played a single Ace Combat game before because I am not really into flight games, but I have always liked the trailers they release especially for Wings of Liberty.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon will be released on 13 October for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Ace Combat series is considered an arcade flight game, but is sometimes mistaken as a simulation game (which it isn’t as no planes can carry 50 to 100+ missles, as well as several other factors).

The new Close Range Assault system seems to appeal to newcomers pretty well, while it enrages a number of oldtimers. It’s one heavily promoted feature for sure. I personally don’t mind it if it’s not a necessity to shoot down tougher enemy aircrafts (as seen in demo), but we’ll see when the game comes out.

Are you getting the game? If so we may even get to play with each other eventually :o
