Rest of The World Gets PlayStation Vita This February 22
Japan is slated to get the PlayStation Vita this 17 December 2011. The rest of the world (North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia) ? They’ll have to wait till 22 February next year.
While it has been announced that the PS Vita is region-free, I’m sure folks do not want to get an export set. Chances are the PS Vita Japan import set might be more costly than the one you can acquire in your country. So it’s an issue of cost versus time. Pay more to get a PS Vita? Or wait for two months plus to get it at a somewhat cheaper price?
In Japan, the 3G equipped model (with service courtesy of Japanese telco DoCoMo) retail price is 29,980 yen. For the wifi only model, it’ll be at a price of 24,980yen.
For America, it’ll be priced at $249.99 and $299.99 for the wifi and 3G model respectively.
Converting the prices stated above to SGD, it’ll be cheaper to get the US set. Then again, I’m sure we’ll have the PS Vita launch date for Asia soon.. >_<
