Yahoo! Auctions Japan user named “Artisan531″ sure got lucky. He auctioned a film strip from the first Madoka Magica compilation film (as seen below), and the auction ended on Sunday at 10.48 pm JPT, with the final bid being 1,080,001 yen. The final bid has not been verified yet.

The auctioned strip features frames of characters Homura Akemi and Madoka Kaname cuddling in the opening sequence of Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 1: Beginning.

The film strip was part of a gift campaign for viewers who saw both Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 1: Beginnings and Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 2: Eternal. The first film opened in Japan on 6 October, and the second followed on 13 October.

For folks in other countries, we won’t have film strips, guess we’ll have to make do with other goodies being offered. At AFA12 you’ll get the booklets and a shiki (as seen below) at an early bird price of SGD45. Do check out more details over here.

I’m a collector myself, but I definitely don’t see myself paying so much just for a film strip. O_O.
