Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII E3 Trailer Shows Off Gameplay

Square Enix has started streaming a two-minute gameplay video from Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. The video shows Lightning traversing the Yusnaan palace in pursuit of Snow.

While folks in Japan will get the game this November 21, North America and Europe must wait until February 11 and February 14 next year.

Square Enix also unveiled a “Final Fantasy XIII – Lightning Ultimate Box” premium set that will be released on the same day as Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.

The Lightning Ultimate Box set comes packaged with all three games of the Final Fantasy XIII series, a soundtrack album from the trilogy, a pamphlet containing original costume designs, and a Play Arts figure of heroine Lightning as she appears in the upcoming game. The box will retail for 26,000 yen and will be sold in limited quantities from Square Enix’s online store.

The game will represent the final chapter in Lightning’s story. The game centers around a 13-day countdown until the end of the world, and players must save humanity within 13 days and 13 nights.
