New Ranma 1/2, Inuyasha, and Uresai Yatsura

According to CD Journal, new anime episodes of “Urusei Yatsura“, “Ranma ½“, and “InuYasha” will be released in a DVD-BOX called “It’s a Rumic World Special Anime BOX” on January 29th, 2010.
This announcement is separate from the new season of Inuyasha that was announced last week.
These three series are all works of Rumiko Takahashi. While I’m a huge Ranma 1/2 half fan myself, I’m very surprised that a series whose original run was 1989-1992, is still getting love.
Ranma 1/2 is a series about a boy who becomes cursed. Whenever he …

Fate/Stay Night Movie

A movie of the 2006 anime Fate/Stay Night has been announced, though no specifics have been given as to when this movie will be released, or what the movie will be based on. From what I’ve heard the visual Novel still has a large part of its story completely untouched.
Perhaps this movie adaption has come as a result of the success of the Kara no Kyoukai series by the same company.  Though something tells me its following my prediction that in this recession companies want to take hold of older …

Anime Market Shrank for Second Year

As Yotsuba so clearly put it in her statistically sound graph above, the Animation Industry in Japan is currently hurting.
The Animation Market Analysis Project of Japan’s Media Development Research Institute (MDRI) reports that the animation market in Japan dropped for the second year in a row to 212.9 billion yen (about US$2.26 billion) in 2008. The same research firm had reported that  the market peaked at 241.5 billion yen (US$2.53 billion) in 2006, before dipping to 230.2 billion yen (US$2.41 billion) in 2007.
While the artical does mention the drop in …

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva

So a few days ago I decided to try out the Vocaloid Miku game “Project Diva” for the PSP. This “rythm” type game lets you play as Hatsune miku in about 32 addiciting stages/songs. There are also dozens of unlockable costumes and other vocaloid characters.

Gameplay:
Before anything… let it be noted that THERE IS NO AUTO SAVE FEATURE! Me and several other’s I have spoken to played for a few hours assuming incorrectly that it saved itself and came back and had to start over from scratch xD
Each stage is a …

Inuyasha: Final Season Announced

Apparently the series Inuyasha is immortal. After airing 167 episodes and getting no where it had finally ended back in 2004… I don’t know what kind of conclusion it was since I only had the patience to watch the first two seasons.  Well apparently its conclusion wasn’t good enough, because another FINAL season of Inuyasha has been announced.
According to Weekly Shounen Sunday vol.34, a new season of Inu Yasha was announced to be aired from this autumn. It’s the final chapter of the series titled “Inu Yasha Kanketsu-hen” and the …

BECK

BECK

Genres: Slice of Life/Drama, Music
Aired: Oct 7, 2004 to Mar 31, 2005

I had been told a few times over the last few years that I should watch the series BECK.  Now that I’ve finally given it a chance realize why I had gotten so many recommendations for it. The story is really very heart touching.
Story: The story centers around a 14 year old boy named Tanaka Yukio (Or Koyuki). He is one of the most pitiful sad middle school boys you’ve ever seen. He …

Needless – Episode 1

I’m trying to think of the appropriate words to describe this chaotic series. If I had to compare it to another anime… I’d say its some mutant love child between Gurren Lagaan, Yugioh, Fist of the North Star, and Mega Man… But that doesn’t even begin to explain it. There’s some sort of plot about the “Black Spot” and people with super powers called “Needless” that some sort of organization is after… but basically what I saw were Explosions, Piles of Dead corpses, Girls who don’t know what bras are, …
