Pokemon Center Tokyo

During my trip in April, I made my way to Pokemon Center Tokyo which is located at Shiodome Shibarikyu Building, located near JR Hamamatsucho Station.

Entering the shop, you will be greeted by this lovely display of Charmander, Pikachu and Froakie.

This is the shop entrance. You will be able to spot it in case you get lost.

Tons of plushies for sale.

There are also 3DS cases for sale. I would have love to purchase one of these but seeing that I don’t have my 3DS with me currently I decided to give it a miss.

There are also keychains available. They make good omiyage for comrades who are into Pokemon.

Pokemon goodies for the little ones. They come in the form of socks, towel etc.

The two legendary Pokemon from X and Y series: Xerneas and Yveltal.

I would like to bring a gigantic poster of Pikachu too!

Life-size Statues of Galilei Donna Sisters to Appear in Odaiba NoitaminA Shop

This November 2, the NoitaminA Shop & Cafe Theater in Odaiba will be displaying life-size figures of the three sisters from the anime series Galilei Donna: Hozuki Ferrari, Kazuki Ferrari, and Hazuki Ferrari!

The figures were made by Design Co-Co under the supervision of series character designer Shingo Adachi.

The shop also features a cafe that serves food and drink items themed after Noitamina properties.

Looks like Odaiba got a lot more interesting again..

Get Your Life-Size Doraemon Plush This December

To celebrate the 80th Birthday of manga creator Hiroshi Fujimoto, Premium Bandai has started preorders for a life-size Doraemon plush doll. The doll is retailing at a price of 194,250 yen and will be out this December.

No magical items from his pocket, but if you have been a big fan of Doraemon since young, this 11kg plush might be one you would want!

Ghibli’s Hayao Miyazaki Retires

The final feature film from Hayao Miyazaki will be “The Wind Rises”, as announced by Koji Hoshino, the President of Studio Ghibli. The announcement was made during a press conference at Italy’s Venice Film Festival, one of the three most prestigious film festivals in the world. Ghibli’s announcement does not rule out the possibility of Miyazaki working on shorter projects or other endeavors.

The Wind Rises has been playing in theaters in Japan since July 20.

The 72-year-old director’s career has spanned over fifty years and includes many celebrated features like:

The Castle of Cagliostro
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
My Neighbor Totoro
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away

And more..

Hopefully we’ll see something new from him outside of the world of feature film direction in the future.

Which of the above mentioned films are known to you? Miyazaki’s works are known to me ever since I started learning music. Really love Spirited Away!

Live-Action Patlabor Film Visuals

The two new official images for the upcoming live-action adaptation film of Mobile Police Patlabor were revealed at the 14th Comic Exhibition in Taipei, Taiwan. The two images feature a giant labor that looks like the AV-98 Ingram in the original anime series.

The robot was actually spotted around Yokohama area just recently, as sourced on the internet.

The live-action Patlabor project was announced in March and is scheduled to be released in 2014.

Pacific Rim Director Visits Life-size Gundam

Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro along with Pacific Rim actresses Rinko Kikuchi and Mana Ashida, made a trip down to Odaiba to see the life-size Gundam displayed in front of DiverCity!

While visiting, he interviewed with with a Japanese television program and talks about the mecha that inspired designs in Pacific Rim.

It would be a good chance to head to Odaiba again when I make my trip down for Animelo! :D

Nana Mizuki to Perform in Taiwan!

It has been announced at Nana Mizuki‘s LIVE CIRCUS concert on 14 July 2013 that she will be performing her first overseas live concert in Taiwan!

It will be held on the 23-24 November 2013.

The 1/1 Colossal Titan Head is Real!

Ever wonder how the you will look like beside the Colossal Titan from the anime series Shingeki no Kyojin? Well look no more as you can find a 1/1 scale Colossal Titan head at Kodansha office building.

The titan head can be viewed daily from 9.30am till 5.30pm.

Wonder if it will still be there when I make my trip in August.. =/
