REAL G Next Project Teaser Site Launched

To celebrate the Gundam’s 35th anniversary project, a teaser site for REAL G Next Project was launched. It is the upcoming project to built new full-scale mobile suit statues for the franchise’s 40th anniversary in 2019. The current full-scale Gundam model is the famous RX-78-2 Gundam model in front of Diver City Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba, Tokyo.

Which mobile suit do you want to see in full-scale? I want to see the Strike Freedom! But I guess it won’t be feasible as the Gundam will have difficulty balancing..

Pokemon X & Y TV Ad

The highly anticipated 3DS game, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y will be released this October 12 worldwide. With this Nintendo has uploaded the following two tv ads for the game.

Both games are the first Pokemon games for the 3DS! Can’t wait for the release =)

New Gundam Visual Project on July 2

A launch event for the new Gundam visual project will be held on 11:59 am, July 2nd (JST). The event will be live-streamed simultaneously on Gundam.info, the project site, and Bandai Channel.

The image above, shows the words” 1/144 Gundam Kidou” which is the the first two Chinese characters of the original Japanese title of the first TV series in 1979-1980.

So this may not be an announcement of an anime series. Possibly about Gunpla kits. What are your thoughts?

6.5 Foot Unicorn Gundam Papercraft

Japanese are always so amazing. This 67 year-old retired man in Fukui built a 6.5 feet paper craft Unicorn Gundam and exhibited the paper Gundam at a local community center. He is looking for more community centers and other children’s facilities to show it off so more kids can see it.

Uchida Seiji always liked crafting and making things. He found a website that had a blueprint of Unicorn Gundam. It took him 600 pieces of craft paper and 2 months to finish this beauty. He added squared lumber inside for strength and made arrangements so that it can be taken apart to transport easiliy. He brought it in along with his other paper craft models for an exhibit at a local community center.

Beautiful Flower Gundam Bust Time-Lapse

At Odaiba Island, there is a life-size flower Gundam bust displayed next to full-length, life-size Gundam. Check out this beautiful video showing the flower Gundam bust!

Will be displayed until 28 October to celebrate the “29th National Urban Greenery Fair Tokyo” event. A pity I was there before the flower bust was up =/ I did see the flyer of it though LOL.

Mobile Suit Gundam AGE Trailer

A trailer for Sunrise’s latest installment in the Gundam series has been released, complete with English subtitles!

Mobile Suit Gundam AGE is an upcoming TV series in the Summer line-up. It is a new Gundam anime, but it may turn some people off (I’m one of them) because the characters shown in this trailer looks as if they just got out of a kids show: brightly colored, minimal shading, rounded hair, using over-exaggerating motions to perform simple tasks.

The only thing I know about this is there is a new AGE system that allows the Gundam to evolve to possibly different forms (1:30 – 1:34). I do not know much about the setting but looking at the trailer, humanity is once again threatened and this blue-haired kid is probably gonna set things straight. His mother died right in front of his eyes when he was just a child, but I’m glad he is not taking the Shinn Asuka route. He seems proper and not blinded by hatred and revenge.

I’m not sure if I will be watching this till the end as I have stated above, the character art is kind of throwing me off. I will definitely give it a try though. Mobile Suit Gundam AGE will premiere on October 2011.

1/1 Gundam Is Back, In Shizuoka This Time

Yes the 1/1 Gundam is back again. It’s currently located in Shizuoka City. What’s this? The famous RX-78-2 Gundam is holding a beam saber! Folks interested to visit this awesome 1/1 scale Gundam can do so. It will be up until March 2011.

Now the Gundam needs to move for World Domination :D

Yummy, Gundam Cup Noodles

I love Japan. Why? They have Gundam Cup Noodles. What do I get? Just cup noodles. Lol. For the 30th anniversary of Gunpla, get ready for some “Char Senyo Chilli Tomato Noodle (Chilli Tomato Noodles for Char)”, available in three slightly different flavours, each packed with a mini Gunpla of either MS-06 Zaku II, MS-14 Gelgoog or MSM-07 Z’Gok.

3 flavors available, well they’re almost the same. The regular Chilli Tomato version will get the MS-06 Zaku II (left), while the three-times hotter version will get the MS-14 Gelgoog (middle) and the red cheddar version will get the MSM-07 Z’Gok! (right). All of them are of scale 1/380.

1,000 participants will also stand a chance to win the MG MS-06S Char’s Custom Zaku Ver.2.0 Gunpla in Nissin Cup Noodle’s special colour, as pictured below.

Now time to get some instant noodles into my stomach.. but they’re just the normal ones I bought from the supermarket ^^”

4-Foot Freedom Gundam Is Made Of Paper!

Building a 1/100 MG Gundam kit is tiring. There are many parts to complete a 1/100 scale Gundam. The picture of a Freedom Gundam you see below is actually made of paper, not plastic parts. Impressive eh? The 4-feet-tall Freedom Gundam took 175 pages of paper, 500 parts and two months to build.

Gorgeous Poster Of Mobile Suit Gundam 00: Awakening of the Trailblazer

Illustration of the official poster for the upcoming Gundam 00 Movie – Mobile Suit Gundam 00: Awakening of the Trailblazer has surfaced. It features 10 main characters and 00 QAN[T]. It seems that some secrets of the “biggest enemy ever” is hidden in the poster. What I don’t see is, any enemy in the poster. XD Maybe the space colony?

The illustration seems to be splashed with purple and blue. Only Feldt is standing out because of her pink hair and outfit XD.

The movie will premiere in Japan in at least 27 Japanese theaters on September 18 2010. Also there will be two theme songs in this movie, one by THE BACK HORN and the other by UVERworld.
