Mobile Suit Gundam AGE Trailer

A trailer for Sunrise’s latest installment in the Gundam series has been released, complete with English subtitles!

Mobile Suit Gundam AGE is an upcoming TV series in the Summer line-up. It is a new Gundam anime, but it may turn some people off (I’m one of them) because the characters shown in this trailer looks as if they just got out of a kids show: brightly colored, minimal shading, rounded hair, using over-exaggerating motions to perform simple tasks.

The only thing I know about this is there is a new AGE system that allows the Gundam to evolve to possibly different forms (1:30 – 1:34). I do not know much about the setting but looking at the trailer, humanity is once again threatened and this blue-haired kid is probably gonna set things straight. His mother died right in front of his eyes when he was just a child, but I’m glad he is not taking the Shinn Asuka route. He seems proper and not blinded by hatred and revenge.

I’m not sure if I will be watching this till the end as I have stated above, the character art is kind of throwing me off. I will definitely give it a try though. Mobile Suit Gundam AGE will premiere on October 2011.

1/1 Gundam Is Back, In Shizuoka This Time

Yes the 1/1 Gundam is back again. It’s currently located in Shizuoka City. What’s this? The famous RX-78-2 Gundam is holding a beam saber! Folks interested to visit this awesome 1/1 scale Gundam can do so. It will be up until March 2011.

Now the Gundam needs to move for World Domination :D

Yummy, Gundam Cup Noodles

I love Japan. Why? They have Gundam Cup Noodles. What do I get? Just cup noodles. Lol. For the 30th anniversary of Gunpla, get ready for some “Char Senyo Chilli Tomato Noodle (Chilli Tomato Noodles for Char)”, available in three slightly different flavours, each packed with a mini Gunpla of either MS-06 Zaku II, MS-14 Gelgoog or MSM-07 Z’Gok.

3 flavors available, well they’re almost the same. The regular Chilli Tomato version will get the MS-06 Zaku II (left), while the three-times hotter version will get the MS-14 Gelgoog (middle) and the red cheddar version will get the MSM-07 Z’Gok! (right). All of them are of scale 1/380.

1,000 participants will also stand a chance to win the MG MS-06S Char’s Custom Zaku Ver.2.0 Gunpla in Nissin Cup Noodle’s special colour, as pictured below.

Now time to get some instant noodles into my stomach.. but they’re just the normal ones I bought from the supermarket ^^”

4-Foot Freedom Gundam Is Made Of Paper!

Building a 1/100 MG Gundam kit is tiring. There are many parts to complete a 1/100 scale Gundam. The picture of a Freedom Gundam you see below is actually made of paper, not plastic parts. Impressive eh? The 4-feet-tall Freedom Gundam took 175 pages of paper, 500 parts and two months to build.

Gorgeous Poster Of Mobile Suit Gundam 00: Awakening of the Trailblazer

Illustration of the official poster for the upcoming Gundam 00 Movie – Mobile Suit Gundam 00: Awakening of the Trailblazer has surfaced. It features 10 main characters and 00 QAN[T]. It seems that some secrets of the “biggest enemy ever” is hidden in the poster. What I don’t see is, any enemy in the poster. XD Maybe the space colony?

The illustration seems to be splashed with purple and blue. Only Feldt is standing out because of her pink hair and outfit XD.

The movie will premiere in Japan in at least 27 Japanese theaters on September 18 2010. Also there will be two theme songs in this movie, one by THE BACK HORN and the other by UVERworld.

ANA Jet Takes Off With Gundam Image

Last year we had the magnificent 1/1 scale Gundam in Odaiba. I’m sure you seen the news plastered all over the net – maybe you even went there! So what do we get this year? This July 2011 the 1/1 scale Gundam will be back in Shizuoka, and also, a GUNDAM JET. OMG? With some help from ANA (All Nippon Airways), Gundam is going to take over the skies. Called the “ANA x Gundam Sky Project”, a Boeing 777-300 jumbo jet will be decorated with the iconic Gundam robot head on the left side and a “life-size” image of the RX-78-2 Gundam mobile suit on the right side. The life-size image will depict the Gundam “lying” on its back, as if it was being stowed aboard the White Base mobile suit carrier ship from the first Gundam anime series.

The ANA x Gundam Jet will embark on its first flight from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport to Osaka’s Itami Airport on July 16, and ANA will hold a commissioning ceremony for the jet on that day. Passengers on the first flight will receive a (tentatively named) “original passenger certificate” as a gift. The jet will stay in service until the end of March next year, and will fly to other cities such as Fukuoka and Sapporo.

People who fly a domestic ANA flight from July 1 to August 31 can buy an ANA original color version of the High Grade 1/144 Gundam G30th plastic model kit (seen below) at a price of 3,000 yen. People who fly any ANA flight from July 1, 2010 to February 28, 2011 can buy an ANA original color version of the 1/48 Mega-Size Model Gundam at 8,500 yen.

The power of Gundam is too strong ^^.

Thousand Dollar Wooden Gundam Statue

We seen many types of Gundam Statues: Stone, 1/1 scale, etc. Forget those statues – you can’t even carry it home. Now available for purchase, this Wooden Gundam Statue is over a foot tall and at a price of 99,750 yen.

This is hardly the first wooden Gundam, and a wooden statue was released back in 2007. The statue is sold by legendary robot company Bullmark. The figure is designed by Plex, an arm of Bandai that designs robot toys.

I like the color of the statue, but sadly I don’t have that much monies for a statue. Of course I’m sure there are die-hard Gundam fans who wouldn’t mind the price :D.

Odaiba Gundam Gone, But Miniature Gundam Available

The 1/1 scale Gundam might not be there anymore, but a 30cm model of the life-sized Gundam is available.

The statue has a weight of 4 kilograms(wow!) and is 30cm tall.

Out Spring 2010, yours for 81,900 yen. You can buy around 9-10 1/8 scale figurines with the money.. The cost of this statue is definitely huge, even though it’s a miniature model T_T. I wonder what it is made of? That it could actually weigh up to 4 kg?

I was browsing around Hobby Search when I saw the price of the PG 1/60 00 Raiser. It’s very expensive!!! O_O.

According to Amiami, it seems that the initial batch release of PG 00 Raiser will offer buyers a cool addition.

Wow the price is just… awesome. Too expensive for me, the furthest I went for a Gundam Kit was a MG one XD. Wonder who will be getting this?
