Next up will be Natsu Matsuri 2011 happening on Saturday night. It is located at the Changi Japanese School. A lively event where you can have a taste of Japan right in Singapore (well just a little). I always found it a hassle to get the tickets as people line up just to get the tickets which are priced at 2 dollars each. This year I was able to get the tickets thanks to Nanopulp! Will be making my way down to the school tomorrow ^^.

Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (also known as STGCC) will be held on Saturday and Sunday.

I will be attending the event on Sunday as seiyuu Itou Shizuka will be there!! I like her voice, and it would be great to see her in person! Other highlights would be Kishida Mel, who is known for the original character design for the popular anime “Hanasaku Iroha” which is currently airing in Japan. He was also involved as an illustratior for “Kamisama no Memochou” that is currently airing in Japan for the Summer anime season.

Ticketing is a little different this year. I hope it will be better compared to last year. I remember lots of folks queuing up just for the VIP Concert area. What? >_>

3 different Entrance Tickets:

1. Festival-Only Access – $8/day
   -Entry into exhibition grounds, including exclusive merchandises in Akiba Town, access to Maid Café, Butler Café and other fun activities in AFA X main exhibition grounds.
   * Does not grant access to main stage activities.
2. Festival + Stage Access – $15/day
   -Grants full access to exclusive main stage activities and content, such as Special Guest Appearances, Movie Screenings, AFA Regional Cosplay Championships and more!
   * Does not grant access to I LOVE ANISONG concerts.
3. Upgrade Access – $10/day
   -Those who have bought the Festival-only Access tickets will have to purchase these tickets if they wish to access the Stage area. Your Festival-only Access ticket will have to be presented at the ticket counter during the time of purchase.

For “I Love Anisong” Concert Pass there will be a Standing Pass priced at $55 or 1-day/ 2-day VIP pass:

• 1-day VIP Concert Pass – $118
• 2-day VIP Concert Pass – $198
• 1-day Standing Concert Pass – $55

AFA X will be held this November 13th and 14th, 2010 at Suntec Convention & Exhibition Hall, Singapore.

The 20th Prize Fair was held in Tokyo TOC Ariake on May 26, 2010. Sega also displayed its prize figures at the 20th Prize Fair. For now I will be covering on Banpresto Prizes featuring the K-ON! girls ;)

If you dig the K-ON! girls in meido outfit, the prize figures can’t be missed :P. I’m sure my local shop will be bringing this Prize Set for us.. o.O.

Anime Expo, North America’s largest anime and manga convention, is scheduled for July 1 – 4, 2010, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Yui Horie and Eri Kitamura will participate in attendee panels, meet-and-greets and autograph sessions.

Hocchan and Kitamura are making this joint appearance to promote their work in Toradora!

Yui Horie is well-known in the industry for the various characters she has voiced. Besides voicing, she is also a singer. And might I add that she is a awesome dancer? XD

You might know Eri Kitamura from her role of Rin Kokonoe, or maybe Saya Otonashi in Blood+.

Yui Horie and Eri Kitamura join Anime Expo’s 2010 guest line-up along with Internet sensation Danny Choo; musical artists Megumi Nakajima and May’n; manga artist Rei Hiroe; musical artist MELL; supergroup AKB48; voice actor Katsuyuki Konishi; Eden of the East trio Kenji Kamiyama, Satoru Nakamura and Tomohiko Ishii; voice actor Kyle Hebert; animation director Toshihiro Kawamoto; seiyuu Yuu Asakawa; J-rock band Sophia; and anime director Shinichi “Nabeshin” Watanabe.

The line-up of Guests of Honor is AMAZING. I WANT TO GO THERE. But apparently I can’t. Orz.

My Mihoko got booted out when she was fighting against Yui.. Not that I am complaining since the character Hocchan did is really just a supporting role, and I have to admit, I was very surprised when I realised Mihoko made to the Top 8 and, the Final 4. LOL.

Of course the next shocking thing was Mio getting booted out in the first round. Totally shocking since you know that there are a lot of Mio fans around! How could she lose?!

So between Taiga and Yui, who did you choose?

While I don’t celebrate Moe Day, I shall go enjoy watching Moe Girls now =D.

So what did you do on Moe Day? ^^

Hatsune Miku will be making her first live performance overseas. This is something I will be looking forward to.. since she first appeared live at Animelo 2009. Consider it a preview? (Since Animelo 2009 DVD/Blu-ray won’t be out that soon..)

The voice actresses of K-ON! will make an appearance for the first time overseas at AFA09. The cast will be doing a live dubbing a scene from the animation, in addition to a Question and Answer session on the main stage.

Students will be able to get the AFA09 Entrance ticket at a cheaper price, while children under 12 years old will be granted free entry. 25 dollars for a weekend pass is considered more costly, if you look at AFA08. But this time round there are more artists coming down, and even the seiyuu cast of K-ON! is appearing, 25 dollars is worth it!

2 Days Concert Pass is priced at $188, while a 1 Day Concert Pass is priced at $108. If you’re thinking of getting the concert pass, I suggest the 2 Days Concert Pass.

Guuzen: M went out for the night to celebrate his birthday with his friends, so I sneaked into Zotaku’s website and typed this post >=D.

Zenical: Happy Birthday M! Please don’t be so busy anymore and save me!! Regardless we should have more outings, and you shall pay for all the meals :D. LOL.

Despite knowing M for a long time, while me and Guu were figuring out what M likes and stuff, I realised we do not know a lot about him. Like what type of anime characters are his type? Which character from Hitman Reborn does he love the most? OOPS. =X Lol. So it’s a hint for M to start blogging more so that we’ll know his taste more! ;)

So a very BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

However, there will be one country (or more) which is not going to care about all this much, and that is Japan.

The Modern Warfare 2 area in TGS ‘09

This clearly shows the different tastes that different countries have for games. I can just imagine that most of the Japanese in TGS are probably squeezing their way through the packed Final Fantasy XIII or Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker areas.

However, it is also unfair to fully blame it on the Japanese’s gaming tastes. It seems that Infinity Ward/Activision also did not make much effort to advertise Modern Warfare 2 in TGS. There is a video clip which just keeps looping throughout the day, and there are no playable booths on the show floor. If Infinity Ward/Activision were to set up their booth like how they did it for E3 or PAX, it should not be looking as empty as it is. I mean, who would want to sit down and watch the same video clip over and over again, when you can actually play other awesome games available in TGS?
