14 Anime Singers Helping To Fight World Hunger

14 anime singers have recorded John Lennon’s “Imagine” song in a charity effort to fight world hunger. The song is available for download since last Friday(Not available for download services outside of Japan). 100 yen from the proceeds of each download of the song will go to the World Food Programme (WFP) – United Nations organization that fights world hunger and poverty.

Singers involved in this are:

Taiko no Tatsujin Bento

If you ever played Taiko no Tatsujin the game before, you will want to eat this bento yourself ^^

Starting October 10, this Taiko no Tatsujin bento will go on sale at Narita Airport, outside Tokyo. It will be flown in from Ishikawa Prefecture just so airport travelers can enjoy woofing it down. The bento is extremely kawaii that I can’t bear to eat this o.O.
The bento will be sold on the second floor of the Terminal No. 2. Priced at 900 yen, it will be available till November 8.

Sengoku Basara Limited Edition Bento

Folks in Japan will be able to purchase this awesome Sengoku Basara Limited Edition Bento by Kobayashi, a bento producer based in Sendai City in the northern Japanese prefecture of Miyagi. Until December 31, 2009, the vendors at Japan Railways station in Sendai will sell the bento.

The Sengoku Basara anime version of the real-life samurai Masamune Date adorns the wrapping on the Dokuganryuu Masamune Bento. Who would consume the bento after buying?XD. Keep it!!
The bentō helps promote the “Sendai-Miyagi ‘Date na Tabi’ Campaign,” which will bring sightseers of historical Japan …

Reduced Portions at Fast Food Chains

As we probably heard of mega-sized food items in Japan, and since not everyone wants to gorge themselves with tons of food, Fast Food Chains are offering mega-downsized food items!

The above clip discusses how Mos Burger recently cut the size and price of its hamburgers and saw a 30% increase in sales. Matsuya also started offering smaller gyudon bowls and has seen a nearly 30% increase in sales, mostly from female customers. Curry King

Love curry rice? Never actually been to Japan to try their curry rice yet, hoping to do so if I get to go there next year >_<. Well anyway, I tried the local curry rice at a Japanese restaurant. It was good and expensive O_O.

Are you a fan of pizza? I know I am. Love to have pizza with my friends. Love Hawaiian pizza XD. Being down with a cough these past few weeks, I have decided that once I am officially okay, the first thing on my to-eat list is PIZZAA!! ^^

Light Saber Chopsticks

If you remember Danny posting about some Light Saber Chopsticks by Kotobukiya, well, it seems like Kotobukiya has updated their blog with more pictures of the product!

Looks like it will be out this November 2009, at a retail price of 1,050 yen! And omg, upon researching for more information about the chopsticks, I found out that Hobby Search is taking in preorders for the chopsticks too! They come in 3 colors: Red, Blue and Green.
