*Note: This review will contain some spoilers to a light extent.*

Well so the Gundam 00 movie had a same day screening here in Singapore as in Japan. I watched it together with guuzen while zenical watched it at a later screening. So yeah, I’ll be giving a short summary of what happened.

Short Summary
Set 2 years after the end of season 2, the gundam 00 movie continues off, showing the events that occured after the takedown of A-Laws.

While the world has achieved peace at  certain level, a new enemy takes center stage. The meisters show off all their new gundams. Cameos from the side characters like “Immortal Patrick” and “Graham ‘Mr. Bushido’ Aker” appear throughout the film.

So basically, a new enemy has appeared in the form of the alien substance, the ELS. The ELS can assimilate anything it touches and basically yeah, the goal of the ELS is to gather everyone’s thoughts into a single collective.

Put it simply, everyone puts up a stellar fight and it ends with Setsuna saving the day. Hooray.

Impressions
Well, if you ask me. There are alot of bones I have to pick with the movie. For instance, the plot about extraterrasterial life. The Gundam series to me has always been about suits fighting suits. Season 1 had the Gundams fighting the Flags, the Tierens and the…. others.  Season 2 had the Gundams fighting the Aheads. The movie? Some weird alien that can absorb you after it fires a barrage of fang like items.

And don’t get me started on the Independence Day-like scenes in the movie. I don’t know. Kinda cheasy for me. And the ending. To each his own but, I’m pretty sure much of the audience crowd echoed my thoughts when the end credits started rolling. Oh, if you are catching the movie, there is a final scene after the credits.

But, I shall not nitpick any further. I like Gundams and Gundam 00 was the first Gundam series I actually fully understood and followed through. There are nice characters, awesome voice actors, brilliant suits and a magnificant plot from start……… well the end crashed and burned for me….. but yeah. A 9/10 is still an ‘A’.

So if you ask me if you should watch the movie, I would say Yes. If you’ve followed through all 2 seasons, no reason to miss this.

The illustration seems to be splashed with purple and blue. Only Feldt is standing out because of her pink hair and outfit XD.

The movie will premiere in Japan in at least 27 Japanese theaters on September 18 2010. Also there will be two theme songs in this movie, one by THE BACK HORN and the other by UVERworld.

All the pictures I have taken are after I have finished assembling the parts, so sorry! No work-in-progress stuff here! Guess I was too excited to assemble it that I did not think about taking pictures >.<.

M told me that if I want to do this as a hobby, then I should start out small, and I felt that this really just nice for a newbie like me. The parts are quite big, so I have less trouble finding them. This model alone took me around 5 hours to finish. I know that is really long, but I had to do it very slowly because I really do not want to mess it up!

As I was making it, there was always this constant fear of putting together the wrong things. This is because some of the parts are really tight, so once you piece them together there is no turning back.

For this whole operation, I used a pair of pliers and tweezers. Only towards the end, did I manage to use the pliers more effectively. If I want to continue this hobby, then I think I have to include a file to file away those annoying bumps that is left on the parts after using the pliers.

Well I am very satisfied with the end result. However, I still wish that I had figured out how to use the pliers more effectively at the earlier stages. Here are some more pictures that I have taken of chibi Exia! Enjoy!

Gundam Exia Repair II – Pictures!

My fave picture. Love the guy who actually did this Gundam. MY HERO!! As my net is down currently, I can’t upload all the pictures. You will have to make do with a quick shot of him.

So Tiera’s Gundam has claw things on his back, And Allelujah’s Gundam looks like the same to me. Lol. Setsuna’s Gundam is HOT XD.

Anyways, Cosmic-Era went to the Gundam Big Expo back in August, and translated some information about the new mobile suits. Here it is:

• 00 Quanta, Setsuna’s unit. Exia’s lineage. It has binders and shield on its left shoulder, as well as numerous Funnels (informal name).
• Gundam Harut, Allelujah’s unit. Harut and Marut are two angels mentioned in the Qur’an. The Gundam has a visor like the Astraea and the GN Archer. It can transform.
• Gundam Zabaniya, Lyle’s unit. The Zabaaniyah are the guardians of Hell in the Qur’an. Looks like a close-combat unit. It has a slim torso and big legs like the Virtue. It carries a “GN Armor lite” on its back. Main weapon : Double hand gun.
• Gundam Raphael, Tieria’s unit. See the Archangel Raphael. It has wired cannons in its fingers (like the Belphegor Gundam) and 4 cannons on its shoulders.

“New GN Drives” were also mentioned.

Ah that explains the bulkiness of its left arm XD. So far, there was only that short teaser message which was shown at the end of season 2’s final episode. Lets hope a trailer of some sort will be released soon but for now, DON’T TRUST ANY VIDEO ON YOUTUBE WITH THE TITLE: “Gundam 00 Movie Trailer”!!

According to Amiami, it seems that the initial batch release of PG 00 Raiser will offer buyers a cool addition.

Wow the price is just… awesome. Too expensive for me, the furthest I went for a Gundam Kit was a MG one XD. Wonder who will be getting this?

Work has started on the “life-sized” Gundam. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the mecha anime/manga/toy/video game franchise, an 18-meter-tall (59-foot-tall) Gundam statue will be erected in Tokyo this July.

If only such events were held around the world, well.. Gundam is quite famous everywhere. Even anime fans here in Singapore who do not really support anime (tsk) do know of the mighty Gundams XD.

The only memorable gundam model I saw was a human-sized Gundam Exia in Singapore last year(excluding those 1/144, 1/100 sclaed model kits XD).

Sadly I heard that the guy won’t be doing any more Gundam Cosplaying. You seen any in your area?

Kataron is destroyed… Azidistan is destroyed… Things aren’t looking very good for Marina and her people. A-laws are on the move to clean up the rest of them, but celestial being draws their attention away to let Kataron escape to safety.

Rating: 9/10

Tieria wonders how Kataron’s location could have been leaked, and after seeing Saji look like he’s about to have a nervous breakdown decides to come over and have a nice little chat with him about whether he was the nark.

Seeing Kataron clean up all the dead bodies Big breasts has a vague flash back about some guy name Emilio who was perhaps a past lover? She passes out.

Tieria enters slapping lecture mode blaming Saji’s idiocity for everyone’s death.

Setsuna returns to base to find Saji on the ground crying like a little school girl at Tieria’s feet… who is still lecturing him…

Marina goes Emo over Azidistan being burnt down…

Most shocking part of the whole episode… Wang’s Man slave is actually her brother O.o

Sergei is slapped By A-laws for letting Saji escape…

Sergei’s son falls in love with LouiseO.o

Gundam Meisters are in serious modexD

The A-laws are putting up a good fight and Big breasts is still unconscious so they don’t even have a strategy. Alleljah and Soma fight together completely destroying each other till both suits are incapacitated it seems.

Setsuna and Graham finally get to battle… Setsuna has to go into serious mode and transform into Transam… the episode ends here.

My anime list: Miyano Mamoru

You might be surprised to see how many awesome roles he’s gotten; Light from Death Note, Tamaki from ouran, and Setsuna from Gundam 00. Including Gundam He’s in a total of 6 anime airing this season (Kyou Kara Maoh 3, Kurozuka, Skip Beat, Soul Eater, Vampire Knight: Guilty). He’s like in the prime of his career and now getting married and expecting a kidxD! Good for him.

Here is the official announcement he made uploaded on Youtube. Its not translated, so its kind of hard to watch, but he seems very emotional with all those long pauses and ummm etooooxD I thought he was going to cry at one point though.
