Mercenaries VS features the same combat-focused play of the Mercenaries mode from RE5 and the upcoming 3DS title, The Mercenaries 3D. Players can select from three characters, Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine and Albert Wesker.

Single and multiplayer modes are included. Single player is a practice mode whereas multiplayer is playable via Wi-Fi or local Bluetooth. Wi-Fi supports 4 players while Bluetooth only allows 2 players. When playing multiplayer, you can select between quick match, where the game selects your fellow players for you, and custom custom match, where you invite other players to join in.

It’s a pity that the game only supports Wi-Fi gaming. It would have been awesome if 3G is allowed for gaming!

App is available for 450 yen. Starting from 21st April it will be at its regular price of 600 yen. Early bird gets the discount yes? ^^

Just about 1 week ago the 3GS/3G version with the 3 same designs were released, and I have ordered Fate Magical Circle Ver.. I have yet to receive mine but I would really like to order the iPhone 4 case too, in case I change to an iPhone 4 in a few months time, but I have been hearing rumors of iPhone 5 in 2011.. Lol.

4 types of food you can choose: Sunny sideup with bacon, Bento, Yakisoba, Tonkatsu.

Each case will set you back by 3,800 yen. Typical price for an iPhone case, but will it provide sufficient protection for your precious phone? :P

This strategic puzzle game is similar to Concentration. You’ll find 18 pentagonal panels which you must turn over to find matching pairs. The images on the reverse of the panels show characters from the series.

Pricing of the app at the iTunes Store is at 350 yen. Sounds cool, but 350 yen is probably going to cost me 5 dollars for a game. That IS a lot O_O.

There is also a clear hard case with the skin. Looks so awesome, but I really want a Biribiri skin now :P. Hopefully they’ll make one soon ^^.

Revealed for the first time this week in Famitsu is Chaos Rings, an original RPG that promises detailed 3D visuals and a major storyline. Square Enix has some big talent at work on this title, including 428’s Yukinori Kitajima as scenario writer, and Final Fantasy VII’s Yusuke Naora as character designer.

The story of Chaos Rings surrounds a battle tournament to the death. Five pairs of warriors from around the world have been forced to Arka Arena for the tournament, and they’re being made to fight whether they like it or not. The prize for the winning pair is eternal life and youth.

Apparently you will be able to play through multiple scenarios focused on each combat pair. Clear each of the scenarios and you will unravel the full story. What about the battle system? Each RPG main’s focus is the battle system. Well, Famitsu’s description of the battle system is a bit vague. The screens show battle menu choices for “Solo,” “Pair,” “Escape,” and “Options.” It’s unclear if you can select specific attacks.

Famitsu was given the chance to play Chaos Rings in advance, the release date for the game has not been revealed.

Even though Famitsu was able to play it, Chaos Rings is currently with a TBA release time frame.

I haven’t tried any Square Enix game on my iPhone.. They’re expensive and I hardly use my phone for games >_<

Ping! is like the Blackberry messenger, whereby it allows free message sending between iPhone or iTouch users. Zenical and me managed to get it when it was free for a couple of days, but now it is a paid application costing $0.99. For those of you who always exceed your monthly SMS limit like me, then this is probably the best solution. However, as good as it sounds, it does have its bad point. Ping! uses 3G/WiFi/EDGE connection, so if you don’t have some sort of monthly data plan, then this application won’t be as useful.

Options Menu & Interface

Ping! is a really easy application to use. Just think of it as a more personal MSN Messenger in the sense that it only allows one-to-one messaging. To start, just simply enter a desired, but available, username and you can message away. The interface is exactly like the iPhone’s SMS interface, so it should feel natural when you are using it. However, keep in mind that anybody in the world can also send you a message. All they had to do is enter your username as the recipient and they will be able to send you the message. So if you are some popular dude on the internet or whatever, it is probably advisable to choose a more private username =).

Changing Your Username / ID

In the latest update, you can change your username now if you are experiencing a situation like the one I have explained above. Simply go to the options menu by tapping on the bottom left gear icon and tap on “Unregister”. It is also nice to note that Ping! is running on a server, so it may not be online the whole time. You can check the server’s status in the options menu as well.

If you are concerned about your monthly data usage limit, I have tested it on my phone and one message will use up around 1kb (send/receive). It may be very little, but you should always be cautious and always keep track of your data usage.

So in the end, Ping! is a very useful application, but at the same time it is not for everybody. If you have an iPhone/iTouch and a decent monthly data plan, then I really recommend this application =). You can purchase it in the Application Store (iTunes will be launched upon clicking).
