On to my post, in August I travelled to Japan for Animelo 2014 concert and I visited the 22-foot statue of Godzilla, located in Tokyo Midtown Garden.

They even have a 1/1 scale footprint of Godzilla, if he ever was to set foot in Japan.

It is the upcoming project to built new full-scale mobile suit statues for the franchise’s 40th anniversary in 2019. The current full-scale Gundam model is the famous RX-78-2 Gundam model in front of Diver City Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba, Tokyo.

Which mobile suit do you want to see in full-scale? I want to see the Strike Freedom! But I guess it won’t be feasible as the Gundam will have difficulty balancing..

The seiyuu cast of Mikasa Ackerman and Sasha Browse, Yui Ishikawa and Yu Kobayashi were at the event too. Unfortunately I was too far to get a good picture of them.

The show was originally supposed to start at 8pm, but when I arrived at 630pm, the place was crowded already! Lots of folks were also snapping and taking a video of the lights show.

The figures were made by Design Co-Co under the supervision of series character designer Shingo Adachi.

The shop also features a cafe that serves food and drink items themed after Noitamina properties.

Looks like Odaiba got a lot more interesting again..
