May’n, the singing voice of Sheryl Nome from Macross Frontier, will be performing solo at Budokan next year. A big moment definitely.
May’n joined Horipro in 2003 after being selected in the music audition of the 28th Horipro Talent Scout Caravan. With her appointment as the singing voice of Sheryl Nome, she finally found success on the music charts.
She took the stage at the Nippon Budokan last November, but it was for the event “Macross Frontier.” On January 25, she will have the opportunity to perform there by herself.

Hatsune Miku, the famous virtual singer, will be “performing” LIVE at Animelo 2009 on the 22th of August 2009!!
In addition, singer and actor Gackt will perform on the 23th of August 2009. There are a couple of other singers performing, like Nana Mizuki, Minori Chihara, Yukari Tamura, etc. Animelo Summr LIVE 2009 is really becoming awesome =3.

Last week I posted up the music tracks from the mini album [Afterschool Teatime] of K-ON! which featured the various songs they sang in the anime.
This album is the first anime character CD release to top either the weekly album or single chart of the Oricon survey firm.
The CD release sold 67,000 copies to debut at #1 on the latest weekly album chart. No other album credited to fictional anime characters has ever reached that high. [ANN Via Oricon]

As of yesterday, over 1 million CDs related to Haruhi have been sold!
Remember back in 2006, Aya Hirano’s CD single “Bouken de-show de-show”? Here’s the cover scan XD.
Yesterday was also the release of Aya Hirano’s newest single titled “Super Driver“. With that, more than 1 million CDs related to the franchise have been sold! ^_^; There are a total of 25 different CD releases to date.
Even character song CDs have sold 100,00 copies.

It has been announced that Hikaru Utada will be singing the theme song of Evangelion: 2.0 – You Can (Not) Advance film.
The title of the theme song has yet to be made public, but I know definitely the song will be awesome. Love the song Beautiful World which was also sang by Hikaru Utada for the first film ending credits.
Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance will premiere in Japan on 27 June 2009. Hope Singapore would get the film not too long after that!
