Zelda Skyward Sword Opening http://zotaku.com/2011/10/02/zelda-skyward-sword-opening/ http://zotaku.com/2011/10/02/zelda-skyward-sword-opening/#comments Sat, 01 Oct 2011 16:40:20 +0000 quartyz http://zotaku.com/?p=17074 Nintendo has recently posted the Opening to the upcoming Wii game The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which will be releasing in later this year in November.

This will be a prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and I’m not sure whether the usage of Wii MotionPlus will be a hit to fans of the Zelda series.

It will be sold as both a bundle with a golden Wii Remote Plus and as a standalone game including a CD containing orchestrated tracks of iconic music from the franchise.

Official Picture Of 3DS Slide Pad Expansion http://zotaku.com/2011/09/13/official-picture-of-3ds-slide-pad-expansion/ http://zotaku.com/2011/09/13/official-picture-of-3ds-slide-pad-expansion/#comments Tue, 13 Sep 2011 08:00:27 +0000 zenical http://zotaku.com/?p=16635 Here’s the official picture of the 3DS Slide Pad Expansion peripheral.

This bulky expansion will be released on 10 December 2011 at a retail price of 1,500yen. Capcom will also be bundling it with Monster Hunter 3G, due on the same day. The bundle costs 6,990 yen, or a little over 1,000yen than the game on its own.

Official picture always looks nicer than the actual product -_-. I still have not purchased my 3DS. I don’t think this bulky expansion and Monster Hunter for the 3DS will motivate me to get a 3DS even more. LOL

What? The Nintendo 3DS Circle Pad Add-On For Monster Hunter http://zotaku.com/2011/09/08/what-the-nintendo-3ds-circle-pad-add-on-for-monster-hunter/ http://zotaku.com/2011/09/08/what-the-nintendo-3ds-circle-pad-add-on-for-monster-hunter/#comments Thu, 08 Sep 2011 01:47:30 +0000 zenical http://zotaku.com/?p=16453 The sales of the 3DS are quite bad and Nintendo hasn’t given up hope yet. Now they are releasing this circle pad add-on(3DS Expansion Slide Pad) as Monster Hunter Tri heads to the 3DS.

The expansion not only add on buttons, it supposedly gives you some grip to your 3DS? The dual analog stick is a good idea, but there are some cons to this Expansion Slide Pad.

It appears that the game cartridge slot is blocked by the 3DS Expansion Slide Pad, meaning that you must take the 3DS out of the Expansion Slide Pad to change games. Apparently, the wireless switch is also blocked.

Whatever happen to having a sleek-looking console device? Now this looks so bulky. 3DS owners, what do you think of this Expansion Slide Pad?

Monster Hunter 3 (tri-) G would be out at the end of this year and there would be playable versions at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show next week.

Nintendo 3DS Gets Price Cut http://zotaku.com/2011/07/29/nintendo-3ds-gets-price-cut/ http://zotaku.com/2011/07/29/nintendo-3ds-gets-price-cut/#comments Fri, 29 Jul 2011 09:59:25 +0000 zenical http://zotaku.com/?p=15518 Nintendo becomes Sony. Well no actually. Just that Nintendo will be cutting the price of the recently released handheld console, 3DS. From August 12, you can purchase a 3DS for the price of $169.99 (or simply, $170). In Japan it’ll be cut from 25,000 yen to 15,000 yen.

Back when the PS3 was released, no one bothered to purchase a PS3 because it was too pricey. Sony then slash the price, and finally, average folk like me could purchase a PS3. To me, the price of a 3DS is comparable to a PS3! Why would anyone want to purchase a handheld console for that price when you can buy a gaming console and play cool games like Final Fantasy XIII or Catherine?

For folks agonizing over the fact that you fork out $250 for a 3DS, never fear! If you bought yr handheld console before August 12, you will be able to download 20 free games from the 3DS eShop.

Now who wants a 3DS after August 12? :D

Nintendo 3DS StreetPass Is Pretty Neat http://zotaku.com/2011/03/21/nintendo-3ds-streetpass-is-pretty-neat/ http://zotaku.com/2011/03/21/nintendo-3ds-streetpass-is-pretty-neat/#comments Sun, 20 Mar 2011 16:00:54 +0000 guuzen http://zotaku.com/?p=12852 The Nintendo 3DS StreetPass is an “always on” background connectivity system that allows users to share multiple software contents with each other.

So what it does is it constantly searches for other 3DS systems in the background when you are connected to Wi-Fi. When both systems are close enough, they will be buzzed and you can do whatever the game has in store for this feature. Super Street Fighter IV for the 3DS makes use of this StreetPass by allowing players to easily search for players to battle on the go.

I’m not sure how much battery does StreetPass uses, but if you want to maximize power conservation you can turn it off in the settings. People have reported that when the 3DS is fully turned on (e.g. 3D screen, Wi-Fi, brightness, sound, etc), it will last around 3-5 hours with the 3D screen consuming the most power.

The StreetPass is definitely a feature that caters mostly to the Japanese audience, however it may do well in other big countries as well. I wonder how many 3DS owners in Singapore will be making use of it >.<. Well, we will find out soon enough as the 3DS will be available for the rest of the world in the next two weeks.
