Square Enix has announced plans to release Final Fantasy III on PC via Steam. The game will include unlockable Steam Trading Cards and Achievements, as well as new visual designs for the Job Mastery Cards.

Game will retail at a cost of $15.99.

Square Enix Drakengard 3 Heading to West in 2014

If you like Square Enix and Dragons: Square Enix has announced on Wednesday that they will release the Drakengard 3 role-playing game next year for US$49.99.

Square Enix describes the story:

A prequel to the original Drakengard, Drakengard 3 transports players to a medieval world where six sisters wield special magical abilities as the “Intoners.” These sisters have brought peace to the earth with their power to manipulate magic through song. Harmony is disrupted, however, when the eldest sister, Zero, attempts to murder her younger sisters with the help of her dragon companion, Mikhail. As the story progresses, players find themselves in a battle to unravel the mystery of Zero and learn her true intentions.

The game will be out in Japan this December 19.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn 13 Minute Trailer

The official Japanese 13-minute movie for the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn game is now available for viewing.

The game will be launched worldwide on August 27 for PS3 and PC.

Lightning Cosplays as Cloud in Lightining Returns

Square Enix has revealed that first copies of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII game will include a costume of Final Fantasy VII’s Cloud Strife, as well as his weapon, the Buster Sword. The set also includes a Soldier Bangle accessory, and Lightning’s abilities will change when she is equipped with the items. The set for Lightning will be available in North America and Europe with pre-orders of the game.

Square Enix also unveiled a “Final Fantasy XIII – Lightning Ultimate Box” premium set that will be released on the same day as Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.

The Lightning Ultimate Box set comes packaged with all three games of the Final Fantasy XIII series, a soundtrack album from the trilogy, a pamphlet containing original costume designs, and a Play Arts figure of heroine Lightning as she appears in the upcoming game. The box will retail for 26,000 yen and will be sold in limited quantities from Square Enix’s online store.

The game will represent the final chapter in Lightning’s story. The game centers around a 13-day countdown until the end of the world, and players must save humanity within 13 days and 13 nights.

Square Enix has started streaming a two-minute gameplay video from Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. The video shows Lightning traversing the Yusnaan palace in pursuit of Snow.

A poster has revealed that the upcoming Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII might also be available on the PC platform. It has already been announced for the PS3 and Xbox 360 platform.

The poster appeared last week near the Los Angeles Convention Center, which is hosting E3 tomorrow.

Bored and nothing to play recently? The Square Enix team is about to commence the beta test for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

PS3 players will be able to jump in to start testing when the third phase of the Beta launches. If you haven’t already signed up to become a tester, you can do so at the Beta Tester Application Site.

Tomb Raider Game in Japanese Voice Too!

Square Enix will give Tomb Raider a complete localization in Japan. Yuhko Kaida (Rosa in Final Fantasy IV and Ikumi Unagiya in Bleach) will voice Lara Croft. Hideyuki Tanaka (Jin in Xenosaga) will voice Conrad Roth.

The Japanese version of Tomb Raider will have an option that lets player switch between Japanese and English voices. Available this April 25 for the Japanese version. If you are all for English only, it will be available on March 5.
