Tales of Innocence R Announced And Yet Another Countdown Starts.. http://zotaku.com/2011/09/15/tales-of-innocence-r-announced-and-yet-another-countdown/ http://zotaku.com/2011/09/15/tales-of-innocence-r-announced-and-yet-another-countdown/#comments Wed, 14 Sep 2011 17:00:41 +0000 zenical http://zotaku.com/?p=16693 Earlier this week I posted about Namco Bandai giving us a countdown site. The “countdown” supposedly ended: Tales of Innocence R announced for the PS Vita! And now Namco Bandai is giving yet another countdown timer?! -_-

Tales of Innocence R, presumably a sequel to the DS Tales of Innocence game, promises touch controls using the system’s front and rear touch panels, a deep story and beautiful visuals. Although not due for release until 2012, the game will be playable in Sony’s booth at the Tokyo Game Show later this week.

The other Tales game has yet to be announced. Hopefully when Namco Bandai will hold a Tales series press conference at Tokyo Game Show tomorrow, they will announce more details about this other Tales game.

Whoa. Final Fantasy X Remake For PS Vita And PS3 http://zotaku.com/2011/09/14/whoa-final-fantasy-x-remake-for-ps-vita-and-ps3/ http://zotaku.com/2011/09/14/whoa-final-fantasy-x-remake-for-ps-vita-and-ps3/#comments Wed, 14 Sep 2011 06:49:06 +0000 zenical http://zotaku.com/?p=16669 I love Final Fantasy X. It’s probably the only FF game I completed. ^^”. And now Square Enix has announced at the Sony TGS press conference: that they’ll bring the PS2 hit to the Vita and PS3 platform!

Not exactly the remake many were hoping for (Final Fantasy VII anyone?), but HD remake for FFX is good for now.

Coming Soon: Final Fantasy XIII-2 Release Date Announcement http://zotaku.com/2011/09/12/coming-soon-final-fantasy-xiii-2-release-date-announcement/ http://zotaku.com/2011/09/12/coming-soon-final-fantasy-xiii-2-release-date-announcement/#comments Mon, 12 Sep 2011 03:51:21 +0000 zenical http://zotaku.com/?p=16598 Tokyo Game Show is just a few days away. It’s this week! Time really flies. Final Fantasy XIII-2 director, Motomu Toriyama has given a big hint as to when wee can expect to hear the game’s final release date.

Toriyama was asked by attendees for a more specific date than the currently announced December timeframe. He responded “It will be announced at Tokyo XXXXXX.”

The number of Xs in his response — at least as Famitsu.com transcribed it in its report from the event — matches the Japanese word for “Game Show” (which is just “Game Show”). Keep your fingers crossed for some big announcement this week!

Lots of many other Q&As so hop on over to andriasang for more read-up!

PlayStation Vita Coming Soon, Release Date Announcement Probably At Tokyo Game Show http://zotaku.com/2011/08/05/playstation-vita-coming-soon-release-date-announcement-probably-at-tokyo-game-show/ http://zotaku.com/2011/08/05/playstation-vita-coming-soon-release-date-announcement-probably-at-tokyo-game-show/#comments Fri, 05 Aug 2011 10:15:25 +0000 zenical http://zotaku.com/?p=15693 Sony’s upcoming baby, the PlayStation Vita might be coming soon for Japan. For international release it will be next year.

Specifics on the Vita’s software and applications will be announced at German’s GamesCom in August and the Tokyo Game Show in September.

Retail price for the Wi-Fi model is at 24,980 yen and 29,980 yen  for the 3G model. During the interview session at Sony HQ in Tokyo, PlayStation Boss Kaz Hirai said that there was no need to reduce the system’s price in response to Nintendo’s recent 3DS price drop announcement.

Official release date announcement will probably be at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, held this year from September 15 through September 18 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba.

With the recent price drop of the 3DS, how many of you are heading for the 3DS? Or you’ll wait for the Vita?

Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII Trailer http://zotaku.com/2010/10/12/fabula-nova-crystallis-final-fantasy-xiii-trailer/ http://zotaku.com/2010/10/12/fabula-nova-crystallis-final-fantasy-xiii-trailer/#comments Tue, 12 Oct 2010 14:30:21 +0000 guuzen http://zotaku.com/?p=10821 This trailer was first shown at Tokyo Game Show 2010 but it was only recently released to the internet by Square Enix.

For those of you who are not aware, Square Enix is developing games and placing them in a series called Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII – translates to “the new tale of the crystals”. It is a series consisting of a trilogy of games sharing a common theme:

the “Crystal Mythos” motif — a theme where the fates of ordinary humans are controlled by omnipotent gods.

Final Fantasy XIII is the series’ first entry, followed by Versus XIII (PS3) and Agito XIII (PSP). Each of these games started development at the same time by different teams within Square Enix. It is also important to note that they will not be related to each other in any way (e.g. gameplay, story, characters, etc) other than the theme they share. More games will be developed for Fabula Nova Crystallis in the future, but for now these 3 are the ones that have been officially announced.

So here is the trailer for Fabula Nova Crystallis. Both Agito XIII and Versus XIII looks really awesome and I am super pumped about them! They are more action-oriented compared to FFXIII but that’s fine, I like action anyways.

There are still no information on the release dates of those two games, so lets hope Square Enix releases more details during the Fabula Nova Crystallis conference on 11 January 2011.

Still No News On Persona 5. Catherine Anyone? http://zotaku.com/2010/09/24/still-no-news-on-persona-5-catherine-anyone/ http://zotaku.com/2010/09/24/still-no-news-on-persona-5-catherine-anyone/#comments Thu, 23 Sep 2010 19:36:18 +0000 guuzen http://zotaku.com/?p=10496 So the Tokyo Game Show 2010 has been over for a few days now, and what have I finally noticed…?

There were totally no news about Persona 5! I know it is impossible to get much news about it since it was only around March we got words that Atlus is starting work on it. But I was really hoping for some words on the development progress. So whether or not they decided to go portable and release it on the PSP, who knows.

What they have been putting more time into however is a new game called Catherine. It is quite possible that they are using this game to test out their engine for the current-gen consoles. Well if that’s the case then at least Persona 5’s development will be more “stable” I guess.

Here is the 2nd trailer for Catherine, as shown during TGS ‘10. If Atlus is really using this game as a test, then there is a possibility that Persona 5 may be cel-shaded. But then again, the Persona games as I recall never used cel-shading so it will be a weird change to me.

So… Catherine… What a weird looking game huh? It looks like some sort of psychological drama with freaky monsters in a gritty Alice in Wonderland-like environment. The crazy world is suppose to only exist in his dreams but from this second trailer, it seems the dream world is crossing over to the real world.

To be honest, I am having mixed feelings about Catherine. At first I was really into it because it feels like a murder mystery. However as more and more supernatural stuff gets introduced, I am not liking the game as much anymore. The things that disturb me the most are those lambs and the fact that the main character is turning into one of them. I think watching the movie Black Sheep played a big role in me being turned off.

For those of you who are still excited about it, Catherine is set to be released around Winter 2010 in Japan for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. No news about English release dates so far.

Tokyo Game Show Top 200,000 For The First Time http://zotaku.com/2010/09/21/tokyo-game-show-top-200000-for-the-first-time/ http://zotaku.com/2010/09/21/tokyo-game-show-top-200000-for-the-first-time/#comments Mon, 20 Sep 2010 22:16:50 +0000 zenical http://zotaku.com/?p=10444 Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association has shared the final attendance figures for this year’s Tokyo Game Show as the show came to a close on Sunday. Over its four days, the show saw 207,647 attendees, a new record and the first time the show has topped the 200,000 mark.

The attendance breaks down like this:

  • 9/16 (business day): 24,764
  • 9/17 (business day): 24,229
  • 9/18 (public day): 81,469
  • 9/19 (public day): 77,185

At Tokyo Game Show last year, there was a total attendance of 185,030, split 27,434, 24,605, 61,138 and 71,852 across the four days.

Next year’s TGS is scheduled for either 9/15 through 9/18 or 9/16 through 9/18. As with past years, CESA has yet to determine if it will have two business days or just one.

Would be lovely to be there. But I guess I’m not that rich. Haha.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd Trailer http://zotaku.com/2010/09/17/monster-hunter-portable-3rd-trailer/ http://zotaku.com/2010/09/17/monster-hunter-portable-3rd-trailer/#comments Fri, 17 Sep 2010 04:17:40 +0000 zenical http://zotaku.com/?p=10307 At Tokyo Game Show, Capcom kicked off the Tokyo Game Show yesterday with a brand new promotional video for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. This is the first trailer for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd since it was announced at the beginning of this year.

MHP3 scheduled for release this December 1st 2010 at a retail price of 5,800 yen!

I played a bit of Monster Hunter. Stopped playing after awhile because I hate playing it alone.. Have to meet up with comrades in order to play multiplayer. I enjoyed the game nonetheless. Maybe I’ll start playing once MHP3 is out XD.
