Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand Gameplay Video and Assignments Detailed

EA has recently just released a new gameplay video featuring the map “Strike at Karkand”, one of the 4 remastered maps from Battlefield 2.

Battlefield 3 upcoming DLC “Back to Karkand” expansion pack will also feature its own Assignments.

The Assignments are a set of ten challenges which unlock new Back to Karkand weapons and dog tags.

For example, “Let It Rain,” will tasked players with racking up 20 light machine gun kills and two with mortars, and offers the QBB-95 rifle as reward. After completion you’ll get a new assignment to complete.

Assignment progress is tracked across both the base game and Back to Karkand maps, and unlocked Karkand weapons can be used in both too.

Back to Karkand is slated to launch in December, and PlayStation 3 users will get it a week earlier than other platforms (take that PC/Xbox users! xD). It’s free if you pre-ordered Battlefield 3, but otherwise you’ll have to cough up some dough for the DLC!

Major Battlefield 3 Update Coming Your Way

A major update is coming for PC version for Battlefield 3, which is slated to be released next week.

For console versions, it will be followed shortly after the PC version has been released.

DICE says that the PC patch will improve everything from overall game polish, stability, weapons balancing, squad functionality, user interface enhancements, and more, but did not provide a detailed breakdown of patch notes at this time.

Based on the feedbacks from Battlefield 3 community, DICE has included several feature enhancements in this upcoming update. Additionally, the developer notes it will remove “the so called ‘negative mouse acceleration’ that some” have experienced. The exact date for the patch will be revealed next week, the blog adds, along with a detailed breakdown of all of its fixes.

As for cheating and boosting, DICE says it will continue to analyze data to hold the proper gamers accountable for their actions, which includes consequences like bans and stat wipes.

Beta for Battlefield 3 is LIVE!

The Beta for Battlefield 3 is now live! Hurry up download the beta and join in the fun~

After playing thru 1hr+, I can say this beta feels like an alpha build rather than a beta build.

There were so many bugs in the game, namely forming a squad before joining the game will break up the squad when joining a game, which is the same irritating bug in BF2BC.

And also it seems to be either the characters are mutants who can go beneath the ground “swimming in the soil” or merging into the walls~

And one last thing… no voice chat in game? I might as well play single player then….

Sadly to say, I think I’ll be better off going back to my Killzone 3 or Fifa 12 for this period of time -_-”

Battlefield 3 DLCs Appearing 1 Week Earlier On PS3

The previous few Battlefield games have always been compared to Call of Duty games and there are thousands of forum threads containing the tired argument of which one “owns” the other. Now EA has given everybody yet another reason to do so.

All future DLCs for Battlefield 3 will be released 1 week earlier on the PlayStation 3 before Xbox 360 and PC gamers will be able to get their hands on them. It is inevitable to feel that this is EA’s way of getting back at Activision for the timed exclusive releases for Call of Duty on the Xbox 360 and it is probably their intention as well. 1 week is 1 month right?

The first DLC ‘Back to Karkand’ (included in the pre-order bonus) will already be getting this treatment.
