Having a laptop is really handy, you can bring it around wherever you go. You can check your emails or do your work while you are in a restaurant. In Japan, you can actually see people using the laptop while walking! And it’s a common sight ^~^

Street Computing

Some people say they are programming, while others are blogging. Two guys say that Twitter is responsible for turning them on to street computing. Check out the video below for some insight.

Street computing isn’t common in Singapore, maybe because internet access around Singapore isn’t that readily available. I do tweet on my phone, because my phone has the data plan so I try to make full use of it ^^. What about you? What do you do when you are on the go?

Gagdets while on the move is a horrible idea. On my trip to the Philippines I saw someone texting while riding a motor cycle.. I use my phone with a data plan w/ my phone, and that’s enough for me.

you just can’t do that in most places in the u.s. wireless access is rare outside shops, and even then they either charge you or require you to log in. the place where the internet was developed has fallen victim to oligarchical greed while countries like s.korea are wired like crazy.

besides, why would you even do that? someone could easily steal it or you could drop your laptop, which is worse since it’s so big and fragile. sms on phones is one thing, but just walking around with a laptop is just a ridiculous burden.
