Hobby Search is one of the sites I frequent everyday, no doubt I love them for updating so efficiently, I also like how they categorize the items! Yesterday, Hobby Search has adjusted their cancellation rules, so you might want to take note. I like how Hobby Search gives us the flexibility of canceling our orders, but looks like I gotta be careful now when I order my stuff >_<.

Cancellations by Hobby Search

  • Hobby Search get more preorders than they can provide
  • The item is not in stock and they cannot procure it
  • The manufacturer cancels the release of the item

Cancellations by Customer (IMPORTANT!)

A Cancel button will appear on the user menu for items that can be cancelled.

The time periods for which you can cancel orders is as follows:

  • Preorders: Preorders can be cancelled until one week after preorders open. (Not affected by the time the order is placed)
  • Already Released Items: Orders placed 00:00-08:30 can be cancelled until 08:30 the same business day or Orders placed 08:31-23:59 can be cancelled until 08:30 the next business day.

Please note that the times are based on Japan time, GMT +9.

Other Cancellations:There are specific cases that fall outside of the above for which orders may be cancelled.
  • Duplicate orders or incorrect item counts. Please notify us by email before the following business day.
  • If you have selected “notify of stockout by e-mail” and you receive a stockout notification.
  • If the price of an item differs greatly from when the preorder was placed.

It’s a shame that you cannot cancel your order at any time anymore, but I do understand their reasons for this move. Many people would always place a great number of preorders and then they would cancel most of them. It’s no wonder they weren’t satisfied with that because it must have been doing a mess in their sales.
Now, you either have to think twice when deciding what to order, or you have to use AmiAmi.
