January 2009, the start of 2009. A busy year for me as I was busy celebrating the Chinese New Year here.

Due to personal reasons zotaku haven’t been updating regularly, hence we experienced a drop in visitor hits, compared to December 2008.
We served 1,370 page views to an average of 566 unique daily users. The monthly unique users amounted to a total of 17,566 for the month of January 2009!

2008 is coming to an end. I always complain that I am poor thanks to new loots. In addition, with a new game console to my family, expenditure will definitely go up. I guess I am one of those people who has to juggle between PS3 gaming and figurines. I made this list of my top 100 favorite characters at least 3 months ago (I could probably change a few around after the most recent season of shows)… but I was asked the other day to name some of my favorite characters and a friend of mine was surprised that there was no common “link” to why I like certain anime charactersxD Some people choose all moe-loli characters… or Bishounen… Maybe my preference is just towards characters that are weird? xD

It’s the time of the year where everyone gets ready for 2009. Also, being a Chinese, I have to prepare myself for Chinese New Year. Chinese New Year is a festival which the Chinese celebrate. Children gets red packets containing money, we visit relatives, etc. There are also goodies for us to eat (making us fat ><) during this period, like pineapple tarts, cuttlefish, etc.

So we probably heard of Cosplay. Cosplay events are held throughout the year. Many have been organized, well until I lost count how many have been held this year, 2008.
