Code Geass R2 – Episode 25 (FINALE)

It has been a good season 2. And the ending was what I expected, thank goodness. Luckily we didn’t have a Evangelion Ending! No Lance of Longinus! Banzai! Bluesnow told me she cried in this episode, while I told her I was watching this episode just like the previous episodes – not emotional. LOL. So many twists, and Code Geass has finally come to an end. No cliffhanger ending, just the epic ending. Should I call it epic? At the end of the day, many people were asking this one question – Is Lelouch alive?

Let’s start with Lelouch using his Geass on Nunnally to hand him the key. I didn’t really expect him to just wait for her to give him the Key. In fact it would have been more scary if Nunnally was to activate the key and kill both of them ,_,

While Lelouch was busy fighting with himself, over whether or not to use Geass on Nunnally (since she has eyes now rofl), Suzaku also had his own trouble – Kallen and Gino. What a pair! Gino is too weak, compared to Kallen who managed to beat Suzaku. Oh but I love Gino btw, because his Seiyuu is none other than Soichiro Hoshi. Kira Yamato from Gundam Seed Destiny sounds familiar? ^^

Seeing Kallen battle just makes me sad.

And it’s my first seeing someone battle against Geass controlling her. Perhaps in certain scenarios, if one knows of the existence of Geass, one might be able to fight back. However I guess Nunnally couldn’t.

Lelouch announces his victory to the world. He gains control of the world, and he is going to prosecute his enemies. Is he? Because Zero appears! Wait, isn’t Zero him?! Why is there another Zero. That Zero bypasses security and drives the sword through Lelouch’s heart bringing an end to his life.

Turns out that the new Zero is Suzaku. Suzaku was to be the new Zero, and that was what the Zero Requiem was for. Lelouch simply made the world to hate him, so that the world would unite when he died. Of course I don’t understand why Kallen believed that the new Zero was the true Zero. It’s like deluding yourself to some extent ;_;

Nunnally has some sort of powers is it? Because she was able to see what Lelouch had planned. Maybe this was just in the storyline so it would make sense at the end where we see Zero and Nunnally together. Many others I know said that Lelouch may have transferred his Geass abilities to Suzaku so that Suzaku will be able to live in the name of Zero – the guy who has Geass.

Of course, Lelouch is alive. And I don’t see the need to argue whether he is alive or not, because we won’t have R3. LOL.

The song we heard when Lelouch was killed is called Continued Story which can be found in OST 2, I did the review of the OST here, so hop on over if you want to listen to the song.

And despite there being a gazillion rumors on how Lulu is alive… I’d prefer to imagine he’s dead since that only makes the ending feel strong TT___TT

Soichiro Hoshi is awesome but I just absolutely hate Kira in SEED Destiny (He’s fine in SEED). Since I’m also a fan of Suzumara Kenichi.

good summary but Kallen did not defeat Suzaku. Suzaku/Kallen mecha fight was a draw. Suzaku was the actual overall winner if you think about it. He didnt help to survive and Kallen did, plus she went down first. Also he accomplished what he said out to do, which was to do Zero R. Kallen didnt, she said that she would stop Lelouch and Suzaku, which she failed to do.

Euphemia did the same thing back in season 1. If it is something that they truly don’t want to do. or as Lelouch said to CC afterward (in season 1) “I guess it was an order that she truly couldn’t accept”

about the song now… It turns out it is not in the OST….

I too have been looking for the piano song that plays and haven’t found it anywhere. I’ve gone through both R2 soundtracks and haven’t found it unless it is on the others or I just somehow missed it. Is it an unreleased track?

    LELOUCH’S DEATH MUSIC – PIANO
Hey guys, apparently everyone is having trouble finding the piano bit where Lelouch just got stabbed and is talking to Suzaku. It’s not part of the OST, which is why it’s ridonkulously hard to find, but I did stumble across a fan-made rendition which was pretty good. you can find it here:

Kallen in fact did not delude herself,

As Zero/Suzaku appears, Kallen is first confused, “Lelouch is right there”
Then, after the shot of CC, she says “Could it be, that what Lelouch was trying to do was…” And that’s where we cut off, but since she actually smiles at his picture a minute later during the continued story song, you can assume she figured out what happened, just like Nunnally did. Following that, she says it’s Zero, because Zero’s a symbol, and whoever is wearing the suit now is as much Zero as Lelouch was, a fighter for justice.
