Guinness Record for Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards Sale
Did you buy any type of trading cards when you were younger? Like Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh? I know that Yu-Gi-Oh was popular to a certain extent - saw the cards for sale here but I couldn’t catch any of the gameplay XD. Well, you should know that Yu-Gi-Oh! is the best-selling- trading card game to date with over 22,587,728,173 cards sold as of April 2009. OMG! How many fans are there then? O_O.
The card game first shipped in 1999 and eventually spreaded to over 45 countries. The record was applied back in 2006, when only 15.8 billion cards had been sold. Now 2009, with over 22 billion cards sold, it’s really a Guinness Record XD.
The game entered the record book on July 7 2009.
Wow.. Did you buy any of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards that contributed to the 22 billion cards? I know I didn’t.. Couldn’t understand the gameplay at all ^^”.

Yeah, I did. Even some of the fakes.
It was just for fun but I regret it now. :(
Still, they were good times. Now that’s priceless. xD
I collected both Yugioh and Pokemon cards~
But Yugioh was always much much funner to actually PLAY than pokemon lol xD
Its more efficient to just buy the Video games though for that… so then you don’t have to waste as much money xP
Plus I won’t go emo losing over and over irl if I can go repeatedly pwn Virtual Yugi xD
@Bluesnow: Because Yu-Gi-Oh is actually a show about card games as opposed to anything else >_>
Just played some with a friend of mine over the weekend who’s into YGO.
I don’t own any (except 3 which I got from a Gameboy game long time ago), but he owns a lot of them, and used to participate in competitions too. He has spent around 300HKD recently so he could build a whole new deck which he found potential while playing on NDS.
YGO is fairly fun, and requires a lot of tactics to play too, which got my mind really busted from time to time. Pokemon cards are ok, but my experience on them was rather vague. Speaking of Pokemon cards my friend somehow has a small pile of fake cards, which are ridiculously modofied and overpowered lol
@ Optic: Wow, glad you got those times with you, I collected pokemon cards though I never got to playing them with people (how sad -_-)
@ bluesnow: I played the gameboy game for the Pokemon Trading Game! Omg it was such fun “collecting” the cards in the game lulz
@ Q: Pokemon cards overpowered? How so? Lol. because my real collection of Pokemon cards aren’t enough to build enough deck when I play with my brother.. I use those “spares” that I don’t have to be the “energy” cards. LOL.
I used to love the anime series (starring Yugi) but never understood the card game so I didn’t buy any card. BTW the game was very popular in my home country, too bad there were a lot of fake cards. I can’t imagine how much cards they sold if they count the fakes too…
