China Rips Digimon, Pokemon and Naruto

Remember Digimon, Pokemon and Naruto? What do you think you will see if all 3 of the anime series are combined?!

Not long ago, 5 Centimeters Per Second was ripped off by China. And the latest update is a Chinese anime about dinosaurs that heavily borrows characters and plot line from Pokémon, Naruto and Digimon.

When asked about the anime, those in charge at the government’s CCTV replied that the issue was with the actual company the produced this Chinese anime. What’s more, CCTV didn’t seem to think this rip-off was so bad. “This is a rip off?,” a spokesperson at the channel added. “What’s being called a rip? What’s being called a copy? Please think first, then talk.”

I haven’t seen the show of this yet, and I don’t think I ever will, but reading this news is kinda urging me to find the show =3. So far only pictures are up, and hell yeah, they look like Digimon to me!

Non-Chinese anime has been banned from the grounds of China, and domestic anime shows are broadcasted, but it seems that somehow Japanese anime shows have been plagiarised, passing it off as a “100% Domestic” show when obviously it’s not -_-.

at least it’ll give the commies some time to polish their anime art skills for when they actually create something unique and awesome. i totally see pokemon in that girl with the bandana and the 2 bottom dinos. but then again, how can pokemon have such a dominance on intellectual rights when it comes to some kind of monsters+people, and now have what…300+ pokemon characters? slaves existed for hundreds of years. man and domesticated/tamed pets have also. i guess it really depends on how closely they copy the idea.

but who knows. wouldn’t it be sad if it was actually better than digimon, naruto, or pokemon? would that be good/bad? i say both.

I’m not really disturbed by this, because AT LEAST they tried to change the characters quite a bit I guess… and I LOL’ed at spokesperson’s comment XD oh come on, since they have allowed that Byousoku 5cm rip-off to be broadcasted on their channel, then this should be nothing to them =P.

Well, given the fact that Koreans did the same much earlier with super robot anime (among other things), this is no longer new stuff for me.

Looks like they have some Yu-Gi-Oh in there too with those wristband things. I do notice lots of similarities (The Evil Digimon Emperor!). This does nothing to change the impression of the Chinese as imitators rather than originators. However, it does appear that Chinese animation has advanced a bit, although I’d have to see to show to be sure.

Japan should not be too mad.
Yes they were ripped off… But the Chinese version looks like crap at least LOL.
Two of the title images look like amateur deviant art fan pages. The one with “Aguman” looks ok though.
I feel bad for Chinese kids that have to watch stuff like this.
