Applying For A Job? Please Build Us A Gundam Model First
Confident about your Gundam model-making skills? Then you may stand a chance to get employed! Bitec Global Japan, a Tokyo-based artificial teeth maker, has just introduced this method of job application testing for this year’s college graduates. The applicants had to not just build them, but paint them in three or more colours within a 3-hour time limit.
Japanese have yet again found creative ways to do certain things =D. Well I think this will be a real treat for job applicants who are Gundam fans XD. I have never built a Gundam before (though I would love to try!), so I can’t imagine myself making one under 3 hours O.o.

Meh, better than the guy looking for a healer in WoW, buying total dedication for 20 bucks an hour and more after certain achievements.
3 hours is easily doable assuming I either don’t run out of paint or my airbrush doesn’t clog, or I can hand paint but I’d need to spend extra money on hobby brand thinner.
…yeah, this is the most bizarre thing I’ve ever heard.
Wow…you get PAID to do what you love. That’s not so bad…
@GNdynames
O.o haha I see you have your fair share Gundam mode-making experience ;) I want to try building one as well =( Guess I gotta wait for my next holiday hehe.
@Snark
Bizarre but pretty nice =D
@Optic @Minaru
The model-making part is just for the job application testing ^^. If they pass the test, they will be making artificial teeth instead =P
Lol at Optic for not reading properly. I got confused as to why you guys were saying that he’s going to build gundams when it’s only for the application part :P
Okay, I failed. Can someone just remove my comment so we can all forget about this? >_>
PS: I was multi-tasking at work. ><
Is it possible to build a gundam kit in less than 3 hours? I’ve never had tried to build a gundam kit before….
When they Make Tetris a required talent to become a teacher my life will be set.
How is modelling and painting a gunpla exactly related to making articifial teeth? And get it all done within 3 hours? I hope they only mean a 1/144 model, as I (notorious for being slow in casual modelling) can only do a straight assemble within that time!
@Q: Think of it as a dexerity check (more than rolling a d20), being able to do it under that limit means your hands are steady (this is something one is born with generally), which can’t be checked when doing a regular interview. Also, I believe the kit they use is the MG Char custom Zaku II ver 2.0 (because they don’t make the original anymore).
