Akihabara, the place for otakus for anime goodies, figurines, games and many more! Presently – that is our vision of that wonderful Otaku Land. Chanced upon this at Akiba Today. Did you know the past Akihabara used to be all about PC parts? People went there mainly for computer stuff, and not figurines or anime-related goods.
Akihabara has moved from DIY electronics to entertainment media like video games, figures or anime goods.
Makers of independent games or manga however are gathering around Chuo Dori, turning Akiba into the Otaku Mecca it is now, changing it’s face once again.
I guess maybe it started with just games – that featured anime series. Slowly, more stores decided to stock up on anime goods seeing how good business was with anime games. And we have character goods, figurines, magazines and the cycle goes on.
What do you think? Do you hope your local country would bring in anime games, and eventually everything(figurines, etc) starts pouring in – you can just go to that certain place to do your otaku purchases?

I don’t live near cityxD
So even if it did it probably wouldn’t help me lol.
The only anime goods we have here are
1.) You luck out and find Keychains and other small items in stores that sell DVDs at the mall
2.) You find Fake stuff for cheap prices at random “asian” stores.
3.) Some stuff at anime conventions.
4.) There manga at most bookstores; like Barnes and Nobles now… luckily >.>
But thats about itXP
If they started Anime good stores around here though, I would definitely go^.^!
Even before Akihabara was a PC place, it sold mostly electronics and other home appliances (which is the time of my grandfather if I recall properly). Although they still exist, they have lost their dominance to what we have been interested today.
There are some malls back home that sell a lot of Anime-Comics-Games (ACG) related stuff. I go to some of them quite often, especially when the transport is convenient. However thinking of seeing one in the UK (and not in London) will be something out of my dream right now…
Gosh this makes me wanna go back to Akihabara again for next year; I’ve never got to explore all areas of it ever ._.
I go to my local mall for my anime fix. It’s my Akihabara XD.
